How DWTS’ Derek Hough Is Preparing for His “Zaddy” Era

Derek Hough is picking up a few tips from one of Hollywood’s heartthrobs.

As the 34th season of “Dancing With the Stars” approaches, the judge-turned-dancer (whose sister is co-host Julianne Hough) revealed that he’s gearing up for his “zaddy” phase, with some assistance from one of the celebrities set to dance this autumn: Dylan Efron.

Derek shared with TopMob News exclusively that he’s about to become a father and potentially a ‘zaddy’, referring to the upcoming season of the ABC competition series. He jokingly added, “I need to work on my abs if I want Dylan Efron’s physique. I’ve been asking him for advice, telling him, ‘Hey buddy, what’s your secret? Is it something I’m eating wrong?’

Certainly, a former contestant from the show Traitors is among the numerous celebrities vying for the prestigious Mirrorball Trophy this autumn. Alongside them will be Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Hilaria Baldwin, Danielle Fishel, Jordan Chiles, and many other notable personalities.

As for what fans can expect from the upcoming installment?

Derek, who’s soon to be a father for the first time with his wife Hayley Erbert, hinted at an exciting and potentially contentious season ahead. He also mentioned there would be plenty of interaction on social media since many of the cast members are skilled at using it.

Previously, a 40-year-old individual confessed that not everyone has always shared their enthusiasm for the show. Moreover, although Derek sometimes learns about the celebrities joining the show ahead of the public announcement, the choreographer prefers to discover it alongside everyone else.

Last night, I stumbled upon someone new, and I’ve been acquainted with others since May. However, I don’t actively seek out information about them. Instead, I find amusement observing others trying to uncover details. Personally, I prefer discovering facts on my own terms.

Instead, Alix and Robert, who were previously confirmed to be part of the show, can’t help but express their enthusiasm for competing, as they are genuinely thrilled about it.

Robert shared his excitement with TopMob News in April, saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ this season! My sister Bindi Irwin won the competition series in season 21, and I’ve been looking forward to this opportunity ever since. The reality hasn’t fully set in yet, but I’m eager to step onto the ballroom floor. Let’s get started! I may not be the best dancer, but I’m prepared to give it my all.

Meanwhile, Alix has been dreaming of this moment since childhood.

As a self-proclaimed dance enthusiast, I’ve long admired the glitz and glamour of “Dancing with the Stars.” Watching it side by side with my dear grandmother when I was just a child, she would occasionally reminisce about her dreams that one day I might grace the stage. Her vision has always stayed with me.

She stated that her passion for dancing runs deep. Feeling eager and excited, she expressed her readiness to take on new challenges in dance, promising it would be enjoyable. Consequently, her response was a straightforward ‘yes’.
