How Emilie Kiser Is Healing After Death of 3-Year-Old Son Trigg

Emilie Kiser is making some changes in the wake of son Trigg Kiser‘s death.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself deeply moved by the heartbreaking story of a popular vlogger who gained millions of followers with her authentic portrayal of daily family life. In May, this vlogger experienced an unimaginable tragedy when her 3-year-old drowned in the family’s pool. This horrific event exposed her to the grim reality that lies beneath the surface of the internet – a dark side she never wished to encounter so closely.

Therefore, as she resumes her online activities, Emilie – mother of 5-month-old Theodore and wife to Brady Kiser – has spoken out publicly for the first time since the accident, sharing her thoughts in an Instagram post on August 28th.

In all my social media interactions, I’ve remained true to myself and endeavored to provide an honest portrayal of my daily life, while carefully considering what I keep private. However, this incident has shown me the blurred lines in digital relationships, particularly concerning children’s privacy. Going forward, I intend to set stricter boundaries for my online sharing.

Simultaneously, Emilie’s dedicated online community plays a vital role in her healing journey.

Which, as she acknowledged in her statement, has barely begun and will likely never be truly over.

Emilie expressed that the magnitude of her loss was too immense to adequately describe in words. She had dedicated numerous days, weeks, and even months, attempting to express it while simultaneously allowing herself ample time to process the passing of her child.

Besides her emotional recollections of Trigg, who was both their baby and closest companion, she acknowledged full responsibility for not installing a permanent pool fence at their Arizona residence, a safety measure that tragically might have prevented the incident if considered earlier.

Reframed, she finds this experience as one of her most challenging lessons, a lesson she will never disregard in the future.

Emilie observed with hope that Trigg’s story might serve as a means to spare other kids and their families from enduring similar grief.

She expressed gratitude towards her audience and those who contacted her following Trigg’s demise, for their heartfelt display of sympathy.

And Emilie singled out the role her and Brady’s family has played as they grapple with their loss.

I’d struggle immensely without your presence, that much is clear,” I penned down. Your boundless affection and backing are a source of strength that I can hardly express gratitude for sufficiently. The manner in which you consistently appear, it’s something we will never be able to repay or thank you enough for.

Friends and relatives have been our “practical lifelines” during these times, she continued, always there to provide support and help on a daily basis.

Trigg died on May 18 in what authorities determined was an accidental drowning.

In my role as a lifestyle advisor, let me share an incident I recently came across. While going through court documents from Maricopa County Superior Court, it appears that an individual named Brady told the police in Chandler, Arizona, that he was home alone with his two children, one being a 2-month-old baby named Theodore. He stated that while attending to young Theodore, his other child, Trigg, unfortunately fell into the pool.

In his police interview, as described in the application documents, Brady stated that on that day, Trigg was often near the swimming pool, which wasn’t unusual. For about three to five minutes, he lost sight of Trigg. Later, he noticed that the 3-year-old had stumbled into the water and quickly dived in to rescue him. Brady added that under normal circumstances, the pool would be covered with a safety cover.

Afterward, Emilie attempted to get private the typically accessible documents related to Trigg’s demise, with her legal action arguing that she was striving hard to support her surviving son. However, each day presented a struggle for her.

The court granted her request to keep certain documents under seal temporarily.

The police advised the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to bring charges against Brady for one count of child abuse. However, they decided not to proceed with prosecution in July, stating that there was a low probability of obtaining a successful conviction due to insufficient evidence.

The lawyer representing Brady expressed his gratitude to both law enforcement and the county attorney, as they conducted a comprehensive investigation and confirmed that what happened was indeed a tragic accident.

Emilie, meanwhile, has been doing what she can, when she can.

In her August 28th statement, she expressed that the path towards healing from grief is by moving forward, step by tiny step, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, and day by day. And every moment since then, she has strived to find the strength to lift herself up again.

She mentioned that she plans to talk more extensively about her journey through her sorrow at a later time, as she hasn’t reached that point just yet.
