Hulu had a strong year for original movies in 2025, with several standouts. While films like Summer of 69, Eenie Meanie, Swiped, and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle were all enjoyable, Predator: Killer of Killers was truly exceptional. Another win for Hulu was Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, a really fun action-comedy. The movie shines thanks to the fantastic chemistry between James Marsden and Eiza González, surprisingly different performances from Vince Vaughn, a hilarious bit involving jumping through glass, and strong supporting roles from Keith David, Jimmy Tatro, and Lewis Tan – it’s consistently entertaining and energetic.
The movie leaves things unresolved, hinting at a possible continuation. Let’s take a look at the ending and explore where the story could go next.
Naturally, spoilers for Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice follow.
How Does Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice End?

Okay, so I just saw Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, and it’s a wild ride that all happens in one night – or, at least, a night. The thing is, it’s a night our main guy, Nick, has already lived through, thanks to a seriously messed-up situation. Basically, Nick goes to collect a debt from a guy named Symon, who, get this, used a ton of money to build a time machine. And it actually works! But when Nick comes out of it, things go south fast. He finds Symon at his desk, shocked by the machine’s light, and… well, there’s a gun involved. A scuffle happens, Nick doesn’t realize it’s Symon holding the weapon, shots are fired, and sadly, Symon doesn’t survive. Nick does, but that’s just the beginning of this time-bending story.
Okay, so here’s the deal: I’ve gone back in time because I found out my friend and business partner, Mike, is having an affair with my wife, Alice. Honestly, even knowing that, I’m not the one who’s really upset – the ‘me’ from the present doesn’t seem to care much. But there’s more going on. Our boss, Sosa, is furious because someone in the company turned on his son, Jimmy Boy, and now he’s hunting for the snitch. I see this as a perfect chance to make it look like Mike was the one who betrayed him. It’s messy, but I’m trying to turn a personal problem into something that takes him down a peg… or more.
The plan for tonight involves Mike being killed by a hitman – a cannibal – hired by Sosa. However, Nick, knowing what will happen, realizes his present self will immediately regret letting this happen. So, he devises a scheme to make Sosa believe Mike actually killed the hitman and his associates and is now fleeing. In reality, both Nick from the future and present-day Nick intend to arrive at Jimmy Boy’s celebratory party after his release from jail and cause a massive shootout.
After taking care of the hitman known as “The Barron” and his helpers, Nick, Mike, and Alice go to the party. Future Nick tells Alice and Mike to wait in the car, but Mike enters the mansion to assist. A gunfight breaks out, and Sosa holds Alice hostage. Suddenly, Jimmy Boy arrives, badly injured from crashing through a glass window. Alice manages to shoot Sosa, but Jimmy Boy then shoots Mike.
Nick unexpectedly steps in front of the gunshot, showing he’s made peace with his friend after learning from future Nick that Alice is pregnant with Mike’s child. The bullet strikes Nick’s neck, and he dies on the way to the hospital. This also causes future Nick to vanish.
Symon reappears at this point in the story. He learned about Nick and his wealth from Alice, someone he has a history with. Alice, who knows Symon intimately, realizes he possesses not one, but two time machines. She leads Mike to the second one, concealed in a storage unit, and he enters, determined to travel back in time and rescue Nick.
This all leads to wondering if a sequel is possible. The story feels complete as it is—we can imagine Mike successfully rescuing Nick. However, a sequel could be really fun, potentially titled Mike & Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. If Mike travels back in time to the night of the party, he’d encounter his past self and both Nicks. The title would be quite long, but it’s comparable to the length of the first movie’s title.
