Karol G is making Coachella history.
The 34-year-old Colombian singer will make history as the first Latina to headline the festival, continuing a trend started last year by Bad Bunny, who was the first Latino headliner.
Okay, seriously, Karol G is just *unstoppable*! It’s like, she’s not just making history, she’s *breaking* it! I mean, she was the FIRST Latina to ever headline a stadium tour around the world – can you even imagine?! And then “Mañana Será Bonito”? That album hitting number one on the Billboard 200? It’s HUGE! It’s the first Spanish-language album by a female Latin artist to *ever* do that. I’m telling you, she’s a legend in the making, and I’m completely obsessed with everything she does!
The Grammy-winning artist announced she’ll be headlining Coachella 2026 with a post on Instagram on September 15th. She shared a photo of the lineup and wrote, “Coachella 2026, LA BICHOTA ES HEADLINER,” and added, “#TROPICOACHELLA MODE ON!”
Carolina Giraldo Navarro, known professionally as the singer, is returning to the desert to headline shows on April 12th and 19th. She previously performed there in 2022 as an opening act, but she’s experienced headlining major festivals – she led the lineup at Lollapalooza in 2023.
Karol G will be joined by Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber as headliners on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively. Justin Bieber is performing as a solo artist for the first time at the festival, having previously only made guest appearances. The festival’s lineup over three weekends also includes Ethel Cain, Disclosure, Foster the People, PinkPantheress, Teddy Swims, KATSEYE, The Strokes, Addison Rae, David Byrne, Young Thug, Sexyy Red, and Laufey.
For Karol G, this marks the next step in her career as she works to reach new heights.
She told *USA Today* in May that she’s always been deeply committed to both her career and her music. The success of her album, *Mañana Será Bonito*, and the following tour motivated her to aim even higher. She realized she needed to pause and consider her future, viewing this moment as a significant life opportunity.
Karol, whose album *Tropicoqueta* came out in 2025, explained that she now has the chance to feel confident and reach her full potential. She wants to show everyone she’s prepared for this moment and ready to embrace her success.
