How Love Is Blind’s Patrick Feels About Kacie’s Comments on Attraction

Please be aware that this article reveals significant plot details from the first six episodes of Love Is Blind season nine.

Breaking up is hard to do—especially on TV.

In the early episodes of *Love Is Blind* season nine, viewers saw Patrick Suzuki and Kacie McIntosh develop a strong connection while communicating through the pods. They got engaged before ever meeting in person.

Their romance quickly fell apart after Kacie, 34, and her partner finally met in person. She later explained that she didn’t feel a physical connection, which led to their split.

The hair and makeup artist admitted during an interview that while he finds the guy attractive, she doesn’t see herself becoming strongly infatuated with him, and she feels bad about it. She thinks he deserves someone who is completely obsessed with him.

Patrick, 31, was shocked and confused about why his ex-girlfriend had joined the dating show, and wondered what she was hoping to achieve.

In an interview published on October 3rd, he shared that he went through a lot of self-doubt, wondering if he wasn’t attractive enough, cool enough, or if he was simply too overwhelming. He even questioned if the other person was already seeing someone or if they were seeking publicity.

Watching the episodes gave Patrick a better understanding of what was happening, but he confessed that going through the breakup was really difficult.

He explained that it took him a long time – several months of traveling and going to therapy – to process everything. While he found closure relatively quickly, the actual healing process was much more difficult. He admitted that watching something related to it eventually offered a small amount of relief.

Even though things were complicated, the construction manager—who had openly shared his worries about dating as an Asian man in a predominantly white area—expressed gratitude for his time with Kacie.

He told *Tudum* that the experience “definitely helped me overcome a lot of personal insecurities.” He credits Kacie with helping him through the process, explaining that the reveal was key to finally letting go of issues he’d struggled with for years.
