With Season 2 already airing, many people are still asking how many episodes are left of The Pitt. The show quickly became a favorite after its release last year, earning a reputation as one of the most captivating hospital dramas in recent times. Its unique format—each episode covering a portion of a continuous shift—adds to the drama and keeps viewers hooked.
As a huge TV fan, I’ve been seeing tons of speculation about how Season 2 of The Pitt is going to wrap up, and it’s got me thinking. What I really appreciate about The Pitt compared to a lot of shows these days is that it gives us a more substantial season. Remember when shows used to have 20 or 22 episodes? I really miss that! The Pitt isn’t quite back to that length, but it’s a great sign, and honestly, I hope other shows take note and start giving us more to watch!
‘The Pitt’ Season 2 Has 3 More Episodes to Go

Season 2 of The Pitt will have 15 episodes, just like Season 1, with a new episode airing each week. As of March 26th, only three episodes remain, and they’ll follow the characters during their demanding shifts at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room between 7 and 9 pm. The upcoming episode, “6:00 P.M.,” promises more drama as Orlando unexpectedly returns after an injury, right as Robby is planning to leave, leaving viewers eager to see what happens next.
| Remaining Episodes of ‘The Pitt‘Season 2 (As of Mar. 26) | |
|---|---|
| Episode Number | Release Date |
| “7:00 P.M.” | Apr. 2 |
| “8:00 P.M.” | Apr. 9 |
| “9:00 P.M.” | Apr. 16 |
With only three episodes remaining, fans are sad to see the current season of The Pitt coming to an end so quickly. It only returned in January, and the season has flown by! While viewers would love to have more episodes, they are still thankful for the 15 they’ve received, though there’s definitely potential for future seasons to be even longer.
TV Shows Don’t Have as Many Episodes as They Used To

If you recall television before streaming services, you’ll remember that shows used to be quite different. Most programs had long seasons, often with over twenty episodes. Occasionally, things like writers’ strikes would cause some shows to have shorter seasons, but that wasn’t typical.
These days, many TV shows have short seasons, usually only 6 to 8 episodes, and sometimes 10 if they’re popular. Shows like The Pitt really benefit from having more time to develop. A good pace is crucial for a successful TV show, and when seasons are too short, things often feel rushed or important scenes get cut, leading to plot holes and confusing storylines. The Pitt, with its 15 episodes, makes excellent use of its time, which demonstrates that other shows would also benefit from longer seasons.
We probably won’t see TV seasons as long as they used to be, but with so many streaming options now, shows need to think about how much content they’re offering. It’s great when people talk about a show while it’s airing, but ideally, the goal is to keep viewers engaged and talking about it even between episodes – and that requires having enough content to sustain their interest.
However, The Pitt is doing things a bit differently. It’s stayed on track with releasing a new season each year, and there’s no indication that Season 3 will be any different. Other TV shows could really benefit from either matching The Pitt’s episode count or its yearly release plan – ideally, both!
