Regardless of It Ends With Us premiering in cinemas as far back as August 2024, the film remains a topic of ongoing discussion. The legal tussle between Blake Lively and Wayfarer Studios has been prolonged, with Justin Baldoni subsequently filing a defamation suit implicating both Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Moreover, pop sensation Taylor Swift has found herself caught up in these court proceedings, and interestingly enough, it’s been revealed that the film’s director sought funding to combat Swift’s fans online.
As a die-hard movie and pop culture fan, I can’t help but share my take on the recent turn of events. Taylor Swift finding herself entangled in a lawsuit has definitely brought more attention to the issue (and apparently added some tension to her friendship with Blake Lively). In the latest twist, TMZ got hold of legal documents from Texas, where Baldoni’s legal team is asking for an additional sum of money to tackle online backlash from Swifties. A snippet of the email attached reads:
The social team has expressed concerns about Blake potentially engaging Taylor Swift’s fan base, which poses a significant issue. To safeguard Justin and the studio from any potential fallout, they have decided to increase the monthly fee to $30,000, reflecting the surge in social media activity.
Discuss the considerable amount of money at stake. Given that this court case has been going on for several months, Baldoni’s bid to receive $30k monthly could potentially result in a substantial financial gain for the actor and director. Moreover, Swift is once more being entangled in their ongoing legal dispute. It’s hard to speculate how the “Shake It Off” artist might react to this repeated mention.
I must admit, I’m unsure how long this ongoing dispute between the leading stars of “It Ends With Us” (a series available with a Netflix subscription) will persist. However, it’s evident that both their legal teams are determined and unwilling to back down. Therefore, it seems prudent to brace ourselves for more headline-grabbing developments.

Following the judge’s dismissal of Baldoni’s defamation case, which was a significant legal win for the “Gossip Girl” star, a request for monthly funds has arisen. However, it seems that the director of “It Ends With Us” remains undeterred, as his team persists in advocating for him and submitting fresh petitions concerning the matter with Blake Lively.
Taylor Swift may not have been directly involved in the legal disputes surrounding the adaptation of “It Ends With Us” into a movie, yet her influence remains significant. Her massive popularity and the fervor of her devoted fans are evident in these lawsuits. However, whether her fanbase, known as Swifties, are actively supporting Blake Lively isn’t clear yet. As for Blake Lively, her reputation has been slightly tarnished in public opinion following the events related to “Another Simple Favor.
The film adaptation of “It Ends With Us” is currently streaming on Netflix, with legal matters surrounding the movie still ongoing. On the other hand, Blake Lively has multiple projects slated for release in 2026 and beyond, whereas Eric Baldoni appears to be without any announced upcoming projects at this time.
