Hailie Jade is getting real when it comes to reflecting on her childhood.

29-year-old Hailie Scott, Eminem’s daughter, explained how motherhood to her and Evan McClintock’s son Elliot, who is only 3 months old, gave her a unique perspective on what it was like for her father to raise children amidst the public eye.

In her interview with People on June 26th, she shared that over the years, she’s gained insight into the challenges her father encountered, as he strove to balance the desire for family privacy with a sense of pride and the desire to acknowledge his children’s achievements.

The host, known as “Just a Little Shady,” who is Kim Scott’s daughter, might not have garnered the same level of public attention as her Grammy-winning father did during his upbringing, but she has diligently constructed her own influence as a social media personality and YouTuber.

Now that she’s a mother, she understands the importance of putting her child first, much like Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Mathers) did for his daughter Alaina Mathers, who is 32 years old, and Stevie Mathers, who is 27.

She mentioned, “It’s crucial to strike the right equilibrium between being open and preserving privacy. This balance holds a special significance for me as I journey through parenthood.

This doesn’t imply complete isolation or disconnection from the grid, because Hailie also desires to reveal the uplifting aspects of her life that can be appropriate for public viewing.

She shared that she wanted to express the heartwarming, delightful instances which hold great significance for her, particularly as a mother. However, she also made it clear that she purposefully maintains some aspects of her life private and solely for herself and her family.

Kimberly Ann Scott hails from Michigan and was once Eminem’s high school girlfriend. In 1995, they became parents to Hailie Jade together.

From 1999 to 2001, as well as a brief reunion in 2006, Kim was married to the rapper. Their stormy union has been mentioned in various songs by Eminem, such as “’97 Bonnie & Clyde,” “Puke,” and “Bad Husband.

In a 2007 interview with 20/20, Kim expressed that their relationship had a recurring pattern: two good years followed by a downturn. For some reason, it seemed like they couldn’t sustain their relationship for more than two years at a time. Born on Feb. 22, 1993, Alaina is the daughter of Kim’s sister Dawn Scott. 

In the early 2000s, Eminem took guardianship of a young girl due to her mother’s battle with substance abuse. As he stated in Rolling Stone magazine in 2004, “I have full custody of my niece and joint custody of Hailie.” Essentially, this meant that the “8 Mile” star was primarily responsible for his niece, and they both spent a significant portion of their lives together, moving wherever Eminem resided. Kim, presumably the girl’s mother, also played a role in raising her.

Growing up predominantly under the care of Eminem, the Oakland University graduate refers to him as her father and walked down the aisle with him during her wedding to Matt Moeller in June 2023.

She shared with People after the wedding that she wouldn’t have missed it. During the ceremony, where she served as the Maid of Honor, Hailie noted that nothing would have transpired without her father. She expressed feelings of immense gratitude.

Her mother passed away in 2016 at the age of 41.

On April 16, 2002, Kim greeted Stevie alongside her boyfriend at the time, Eric Hartter. However, Eminem officially adopted Stevie in 2005 following his reconciliation with Kim.
