How Pete Davidson’s Baby Girl’s Name Honors His Late Dad

There’s an extra special meaning behind the name of Pete Davidson’s daughter. 

Pete Davidson and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, on December 12th. The name honors Pete’s father.

Scottie is named in honor of Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who tragically died on September 11, 2001, while responding to the attacks on the Twin Towers. Pete Davidson was seven years old at the time.

Scott’s passing had a huge impact on Pete, who has called his dad a “legend” and a “hero.”

The baby girl’s name also honors her parents in a couple of ways. Rose is her mother Elsie’s middle name, and she received both of her parents’ last names to preserve their family history.

Elsie announced the birth of her daughter on December 18th with a series of Instagram photos. She and Pete had confirmed they were expecting a baby in July, and Elsie shared the news with a post celebrating their “perfect angel girl,” obscuring the baby’s face with a white heart.

“This is my best work so far,” she said, clearly overjoyed. “I’m incredibly happy and thankful, and I still can’t believe it.”

She also included a cheeky message from Pete in her caption, which read, “Wu tang forever.”

Everyone was thrilled about the new baby, including Pete Davidson’s sister, Casey, who expressed her excitement.

She enthusiastically called someone “the most perfect girl to exist!” in an Instagram comment, then shared the post to her own Story with the caption, “Auntie mode activated.”

Pete, age 32, recently shared with TopMob News how thrilled he was to be becoming a father. He said he felt incredibly lucky and happy, and was looking forward to providing the loving childhood he missed out on.

He explained that people often try to pass on their own shortcomings and dislikes to others, rather than avoiding them themselves.

Pete also shared that fatherhood was something he’d been hoping for ever since childhood. 

He told TopMob that achieving this has always been his childhood dream, and he’s thrilled it’s come true. He explained that while people often grow out of their childhood aspirations, his passion never faded.
