How Powerful Is Maki in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?

Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen finally shows the long-awaited scene of Maki Zenin destroying the entire Zenin clan on her own. This happens in the Perfect Preparation Arc, which takes place just before the Culling Game. Maki discovers her sister, Mai, is in danger due to the clan’s actions. The Zenin clan consistently mistreated the twin sisters, not just for their perceived lack of power, but also simply because they were female. After years of abuse and being held back, the sisters went to schools to become sorcerers, but the clan constantly undermined their efforts.

Following the events in Shibuya, the Zenin Clan found a convenient reason to eliminate Maki and Mai, who had tried to release Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm after he was falsely accused of treason. Their father, Ogi Zenin, viewed this as a chance to remove his daughters, whom he considered hindrances to his ambition of leading the clan. However, he underestimated how his own selfishness would ultimately unlock Maki’s full power, leading her to single-handedly destroy the entire clan of sorcerers.

Maki Unlocked Her True Potential in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, twins are considered a single entity, which is why Mai absorbed their combined cursed energy. This removed all limits on Maki’s abilities and allowed her to reach her full potential. Mai even used the last of her energy to create a special katana, letting Maki destroy their entire clan. After awakening, Maki’s power became comparable to Toji Fushiguro, a character strong enough to defeat even powerful, high-level sorcerers and curses. Toji is one of the series’ most formidable characters, famously defeating Satoru Gojo through careful strategy and his own unique skills during the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc.

That victory was unusual, mainly because he unexpectedly caught Gojo off guard – something very few opponents can achieve. Generally, someone with a Heavenly Restriction wouldn’t be able to beat a Special Grade sorcerer. Though defeating these incredibly powerful sorcerers is a huge challenge, Maki is definitely stronger than a Grade 1. After fully unlocking her abilities, she no longer needs glasses, as her senses are now sharp enough to perceive curses. While the Zenin Clan massacre is a standout moment for her, fans can expect even more impressive feats from her during the Culling Game and Shinjuku Showdown arcs.
