Taylor Swift taught Donna Kelce how to dress for revenge. 

As a huge fan of both pop culture and a good strategy game, I have to say, Donna Kelce – mom to Jason and Travis Kelce – totally nailed it on the latest season of The Traitors. She shared that Taylor Swift’s song “Vigilante St” actually prepared her for all the backstabbing and drama happening in the castle! It’s funny how life – and a killer song – can give you the perfect mindset for a game like that, right?

Oh my gosh, did you HEAR her?! She totally dropped a line from Taylor’s song! It wasn’t exactly the same – she said ‘Don’t get mad, get even’ instead of ‘Don’t get sad, get even’ – but seriously, it was SO clear where she got it from. I almost screamed! It’s like she was sending a secret message to all of us Swifties!

Donna shared that her strategy on The Traitors came from her family. She explained that Jason and Travis, who have four daughters – Wyatt (6), Elliotte (4), Bennett (2), and Finnley (9 months) with Kylie Kelce – are big fans of the show.

Oh my gosh, she actually said they were so excited! Apparently, Jason is the one who got her hooked – can you believe it?! She told everyone they literally spent a whole weekend, during the playoffs no less, just completely binge-watching it! It sounds like the best weekend ever, honestly. I’m so jealous they discovered it!

For the 73-year-old, she emphasized she was also “so excited” to be heading to the castle. 

She said she never imagined she’d have this opportunity. As you get older and your children start their own lives, it’s vital to rediscover yourself and pursue long-held dreams—and that’s what led her to Scotland.

Donna acknowledged she was a little worried about bumping into her son’s ex-girlfriends at the castle.

She thought the source of the information could be people on other teams, coaches, or even former romantic partners.

Now, Donna doesn’t need to think about her sons’ past relationships, as both Jason and Travis are happily married. Travis even mentioned that Taylor and Donna have a lot in common with him.

I’m constantly amazed by the warmth and authenticity of the family. It’s the little things, like how they greet everyone with a genuine hello, and their unwavering support, no matter what. But beyond that, I’ve always been inspired by their incredible work ethic. I watched my mom achieve her dreams, starting as a bank teller and working her way up to a leadership position at KeyBank – it was truly incredible to witness.

According to Travis, Taylor has a knack for setting ambitious goals, surpassing them, and captivating audiences in the process.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first connected in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at the concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy getting ready for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a bit upset Taylor Swift didn’t speak with fans before or after her concerts because she needs to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs. He added that he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Okay, so after he talked about that fumble – honestly, the way he described it later as “metal as hell” just made me love him even more – Travis just went for it! He actually invited Taylor to a Chiefs game at Arrowhead! Can you believe it? It was such a bold move, and I was screaming! Seriously, the moment he decided to shoot his shot, I knew something amazing was about to happen. It was perfect!

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he playfully challenged Taylor Swift. He told her that since she’s performed at Arrowhead Stadium, she should come see him perform there too, and see whose show is more exciting. He said we’ll have to wait and see if she takes him up on it.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with inside knowledge, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, according to TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Okay, so Travis finally invited me to a game – well, not me me, but I was with his amazing mom, Donna Kelce, at Arrowhead! It was incredible watching Travis and the Chiefs crush the Bears. And then… oh my gosh, after the game, we all went to this bar and… let’s just say Travis and I were very cozy. Seriously, the PDA was real, and I’m still reeling from it all!

Everyone always thought Taylor and Joe first met in person when those photos came out, but Taylor actually explained they’d already gotten to know each other really well before that! They’d spent a good chunk of time together, apparently, before anyone even knew they were a thing.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how close they were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends—including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski—to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that she and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued their New York outing with a post-show party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform as part of her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor during the concert.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and enthusiastically kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that she and her partner are comfortable being seen together and supporting each other’s passions, not caring what others think. This is a contrast to situations where people go to great lengths to keep relationships secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Let me tell you, it was incredibly sweet seeing Taylor and Travis ring in the New Year together! From what I hear, they shared a really romantic moment – a New Year’s kiss right as the clock struck midnight. It felt like a perfect start to the year for them, and honestly, a really lovely moment to witness.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and secured their place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.
