In Where Winds Meet, you’ll find many challenging bosses throughout the game world. Defeating them rewards you with useful items to improve your character and gives you a chance to practice and improve your combat skills. To overcome all the World Bosses, you’ll need to upgrade your equipment, choose the right Talents, and master a variety of Mystic Arts.
The Earth Fiend Deity is a powerful enemy you’ll encounter early in the game in Qinghe. Trying to defeat it without a strategy is extremely difficult. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to win, and we’ll explain it below.
Earth Fiend Deity Location

Okay, so I finally found the Earth Fiend Deity! It’s located in the Witherwilds, which are part of the Moonveil Mountains in Qinghe. If you start at the Tiger Fort Boundary Stone, just head north for around 250 meters and you’ll run right into it. It took me a while, but I’m so glad I found it!
Earth Fiend Diety Fight Walkthrough
We strongly suggest learning the Cloud Step Mystic Art before fighting the Earth Fiend Deity. This skill makes it easy to jump around when you’re not in battle, and during fights, it lets you jump on enemies’ heads, damaging them and throwing them off balance. You can obtain Cloud Step by completing the Echoes in the Shrine side quest, found at the General’s Shrine in Qinghe.
Okay, so this Earth Fiend Deity is a tough one! It mostly attacks by jumping at you with its claws, and it likes to sneak up on you by digging underground and popping back up unexpectedly. Honestly, timing your parries and dodges is super important for this fight – you really need to pay attention to its moves and learn when to react. It’s all about getting the timing just right!
Earth Fiend Deity has a powerful but risky attack where it repeatedly rolls around, trying to hit you. While this attack can deal a lot of damage, you can actually block every hit with a well-timed parry, significantly reducing the boss’s Qi meter.
It’s even simpler with Assist Deflection turned on, because it will automatically block every hit in the attack.
The boss has a really dangerous attack where it creates a swirling sandstorm that pulls you closer. After a few seconds, it unleashes a powerful attack around itself, which can likely kill you instantly. To avoid this, use the Cloud Step ability to knock the boss down, leaving it vulnerable for a short time.
When the boss yells ‘underground,’ it will burrow into the ground and then leap up, attacking you from above. It repeats this pattern several times. Timing your dodges or parries is crucial, because mistiming them can trap you in a cycle of dodging too late and getting hit by the following attack.
If the boss ducks underground without making a sound, it will quickly reappear close to you and then jump on your head, attacking with its claws. This attack is hard to dodge, so get ready to move aside as soon as the boss disappears underground.
The Earth Fiend Deity sometimes transforms into a toad spirit and then jumps onto you. To avoid damage, block right before it lands.
Earth Fiend Deity is one of the simpler World Bosses, but mastering its unpredictable attacks requires practice with dodging and blocking. If you’re struggling, try playing on a lower difficulty or team up with other players for assistance.
