How to Find and Use All Currencies In Where Winds Meet

If you’re familiar with online games like MMOs, you’ll notice they often have a lot of different types of currency. Some people think there are too many, but it makes sense when the game is meant to be a long-term commitment.

You won’t need every currency right away, but as you get deeper into the game and explore its different features, understanding how each one works and connects to the others becomes really important.

While some currencies are more useful than others, what’s important really depends on your play style. If you prefer a relaxed pace, you might focus on different currencies than someone who likes fast-paced action. Let’s take a look at the various types and how to get them.

Regional Currency

Let’s begin with the main currency you’ll use constantly. These coins are for everyday purchases – buying items, restoring your health, and improving your character, including abilities like magic skills, and much more.

Although some of these items may seem pricey initially, you’ll earn enough currency just by playing the game – completing quests and opening chests – that you likely won’t need to specifically grind for it.

As a collector, I’ve noticed something really interesting about Qinghe and Kaifeng! They both have their own unique coins, and what’s cool – and a little frustrating – is that they only work within those cities. You can’t use a Qinghe coin in Kaifeng, or vice versa. It’s like they’ve got their own little economies!

Coin Complete quests and dungeons around the game world, or purchase using Jade Fish Buying items from vendors and upgrading your character

Jade Currency

This currency is widely accepted, but it’s a bit harder to come by than standard coins, so you’ll need to be more mindful of how you use it.

You can quickly earn Echo Jade just by opening chests and finishing tasks in the game’s menus. However, I wouldn’t recommend doing that right away. Instead, for your first 5,000 Echo Jade or so, focus on buying tickets from Tang Bao. These tickets will help you progress further.

After visiting Tang Lun in Kaifeng and seeing what he sells, you can decide if buying cosmetic items with Echo Jade is worthwhile.

Jade Fish are useful for buying materials to improve your Martial Arts. The more Jade Fish you collect, the more items you can get from the Weekly Collection.

Currency How To Obtain Where To Use
Echo Jade Found simply by exploring the overworld and for in-game engagement Can be used on merchants around the world and on cosmetics in-game.
Jade Fish Can also be found through engagement and by collecting materials Used in the engagement shop

Character Currency

You’ll find some currencies as you progress further in the game. Vintage Bookplates will be especially useful later on, as upgrading your Martial Arts skills gets quite costly. For instance, reaching level 50 required 8 Umbra Notes for me.

You can earn in-game currency by playing, which is a good option if you prefer not to spend real money. But, if you’re hoping to get the most exclusive cosmetic items, you’ll need to collect a significant amount of it.

If you enjoy a good game of Mahjong, you’ll want to collect a good amount of Commerce Coins.

Currency How To Obtain Where To Use
Vintage Bookplate Recycle Spare Tips to gain these Exchange these for Inner Way upgrade materials
Treasure Money A reward for crafting materials and food items These can be used instead of Echo Beads to purchase cosmetic goods for F2P players.
Commerce Coin Rewarded for completing main quests or bought using Jade Fish Used in Feng Cheng’s Shop to buy decorations and Trade Goods

Multiplayer Currency

You can mostly earn these rewards by playing online activities within the Wandering Paths area. They’re generally used to buy cosmetic items and other things that don’t affect how you progress in the game. If you prefer playing by yourself, you likely won’t find these very useful.

Players can help each other out through Professions, offering healing or receiving it. Bounty Hunting is a good way to earn money and experience while interacting with others, but it doesn’t require teamwork. Keep in mind this game is designed to be a lighter MMO experience, so you can enjoy it perfectly well by playing alone and at your own speed.

Currency How To Obtain Where To Use
Adventure Slip Gained from competing in Wandering Paths activities Used in the Wandering Paths shop
Bounty Token Used to post bounties Earned from Engagement Levels or bought with Echo Beads
Fourfold Coin Complete bounties posted by other players Used for cosmetics in the Bounty Shop
Gold Leaf Game Chip Earned from completing Mahjong Challenges or with Commerce Coins Used to compete in challenges
Reputation Earned from completing Sect Command and from completing the Know Your Jianghu achievements Used for Cosmetics in the Sect Shop
Harmony Charm Earned from being in a Partnership or from Discipleship Used for cosmetics in the Social Shop

Reward Currency

Here’s a look at the Gacha currency you can earn – it’s a substantial amount! This currency is used to get cosmetic items through Draws. Each Draw costs currency, and gives you a chance to win a new cosmetic.

The shop has lots of great deals and gives rewards for your first purchase. While Echo Beads are the main currency, you’ll quickly find several others as you explore everything available. Honestly, navigating the shop feels like a game within the game! Plus, the cosmetic items you buy aren’t just for looks – they affect your Elegance Score, which you can compare with other players.

You can also buy some tickets using Harmonic Cores, and these Cores can be saved up to purchase the Fortune Boat – the most expensive item in the game, costing over $40,000! It sounds unbelievable, but it’s true.

Currency How To Obtain Where To Use
Echo Bead These can only be bought with real money Used to buy cosmetics
Lingering Melody These can be bought from shops in-game, like Meow Meow’s Shop or with Echo Jade Used for Random Celestial Echo Draws
Resonating Melody Can only be bought with Echo Jade Used for Solemn Echo Draws
Harmonic Core Random reward from Draws Can be exchanged for the best cosmetics
Essence of Heaven Obtained from Celestial Draws Used in the Draw Exchange Shop
Essence of Earth Obtained from Solemn Draws Used in the Draw Exchange Shop
Sound Jade Obtained from the Draw Shop Can be exchanged for Visual Effects and Harmonic Cores
Battle Pass Token A reward for completing tiers in the Battle Pass Used in the Battle Pass Shop
Cosmetic Chest Complete activities that require you to use energy, like Boss Fights and Outpost Battles Used for Clothing in the Engagement Shop

Wow, that’s a lot of different currencies! But don’t stress – you don’t need them all to enjoy Where Winds Meet. Most players won’t use everything at once. If you’re looking for a good value, the Battle Pass is a great option – it gives you cool cosmetic items and helpful upgrades for gameplay. You can also earn the Battle Pass just by playing! The game is very generous to free-to-play players, so spending money isn’t required at all.

Just enjoy exploring, learning, and having fun – don’t worry too much about the menus or how the in-game money works. Remember, it’s a free game! It’s easy to get hooked, just like I did.
