How to find The Blade That Hungers Treasure in Avowed

One of the final treasures in Avowed.

Each area in Avowed contains three treasure maps leading to special rewards. In the last region, Galawain’s Tusks, one map is called ‘The Blade That Hungers.’ You can buy this map from a merchant named Bulti, who can be found on the top floor of Solace Keep.

Once you get the treasure map, you can check it in your quest journal and start looking for a powerful melee weapon. However, the map for finding The Blade That Hungers isn’t very helpful – it just shows a rocky area near a tower, which isn’t much direction in a place like Galawain’s Tusks.

The Blade That Hungers Treasure location in Avowed

Okay, so for this treasure map, you need to head way up north in Galawain’s Tusks. Basically, start northwest of Solace Keep and just keep going until you hit the Ash Forest. Then, you’ll want to climb even further north into the mountains – it’s just west of The Living Archives, so keep an eye out for it!

You can find a hidden chest in the Ash Forest by going through a narrow opening on the mountainside, right near a spider’s nest. The path through the opening is winding, but it leads to a gold chest containing The Blade That Hungers Treasure – the unique Umbral Needle, a one-handed weapon.

If you enjoy fighting up close in Avowed, the Umbral Needle is a fantastic weapon. It works especially well if you also use a strong shield – the one you can get from completing the ‘My Loyal Shield’ treasure hunt in Galawain’s Tusks is a great choice.

Once you’ve obtained the Umbral Needle, you’ll have finished collecting The Blade That Hungers treasure in Avowed and can start a new quest.
