How to Fly in Skate 4 (Glitch)

It’s not surprising for a game still in early access, but Skate 4 currently has several bugs and glitches. The most helpful one is a glitch that lets you fly! This allows you to send your character soaring into the air whenever you like, and it’s a quick way to get around. This is especially useful if you’d rather not climb all the tall buildings in San Van. Keep reading to learn how to use this glitch!

How To Do The Fly Glitch | Skate 4

Let’s begin by pausing the game and navigating to the Appearance settings for your character. It’s important to set your character’s Height to 3. If you don’t, this glitch won’t work at all! It appears to only affect characters who are taller…

Now, how to do the glitch proper. You’ll need to follow these steps:

  1. Get off your board.
  2. While off your board, get back on your board by pressing Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox).
  3. As your character gets back on the board, slowly move the right analog stick down. It’s more or less the same motion as doing a manual. However, you also need to ensure that the right stick is all the way down by the time the skateboard is fully on the ground. This is the trickiest part of the glitch, as the timing can take some getting used to.
  4. If you did the previous step right, your character will now be stuck in a T-pose while on their board.
  5. Next, press L1 + D-Pad (PlayStation) or LB + D-Pad (Xbox) to do an emote. Any emote works for this, there’s no specific requirement. This will launch your character up into the sky!
  6. After your character shoots up, try doing other emotes or just waiting until the camera re-centers back on them.
  7. When you can see your character again, hold Up on the D-Pad and hold it to create a session marker.
  8. Then, press Up on the D-Pad to go back to the midair session marker you just placed.
  9. You can now freely fly down to the city by using the Spread Eagle (R1 + X on PlayStation, RB + A on Xbox) to slow down and the Torpedo (R1 + Circle on PlayStation, RB + B on Xbox) to speed up.

Be aware that this glitch can sometimes send your character flying very high into the air. If that happens, it will take a long time for your character to fall back down to San Van… so, we suggest going back to a save point from before you tried the glitch. You could also reload the game. Either option is quicker than waiting for a long fall!

That’s all there is to it! You now know how to perform the rather amusing fly glitch in Skate 4. As of right now (version 0.27.7), this glitch still works, so have fun with it while you can!
