One of the alternate endings in *Silent Hill f* is called “Fox’s Wedding.” Like the other alternate endings, you can only unlock it after completing the game once – it’s a New Game+ feature. We won’t reveal what happens in the ending itself, but most players consider it a negative outcome. Curious about why? Keep reading to learn how to get it.
How To Get Fox’s Wedding Ending | Silent Hill f

There are three main requirements for you to be able to get the “Fox’s Wedding” ending, as follows:
- Didn’t take the Red Capsules. This one means you should not use any Red Capsules during the entire playthrough. Also, do not take the ones offered at Shu’s Workshop on the 4th visit to Ebisugaoka.
- Purified the Sacred Sword, or didn’t obtain it. For the sake of this ending, we recommend just ignoring the Sacred Sword. You get it by completing the Jizo Statues’ puzzle, so ignoring them is the safest bet.
- If you do want to collect the Sacred Sword, make sure to finish the bell puzzle on your 3rd visit to the Dark Shrine. This will allow you to purify the sword with the Crimson Waters on your 5th visit to Ebisugaoka. We’ll give you more details on this later in this guide.
- Obtained the Agura no Hotei-sama. This is a special key item tied exclusively to this ending. Note that it’s actually called “Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged” in-game!
How to Get the Agura no Hotei-sama
The Agura no Hotei-sama is the key item you need to unlock this ending. You’ll find it in a hidden area of the Main Hall during your third visit to the Otherworld in New Game+. The video shows you the exact route – it leads through a path that was previously blocked during your first playthrough.
If you have the Agura no Hotei-sama, avoid using Red Capsules and don’t use (or cleanse) the Sacred Sword. If you *do* want to cleanse the sword, we can offer some guidance!
How to Purify the Sacred Sword

If you’re trying to get the Sacred Sword and purify it, be sure to solve the bell puzzle immediately after you find the Agura no Hotei-sama. It’s located in the same part of the Dark Shrine. You’ll need to ring the bells in the correct sequence, and you can find a clue on a stone tablet nearby.
Once you’ve finished the puzzle, you can continue with the story until you reach Ebisugaoka for the fifth time. We strongly suggest creating a backup save file before proceeding! This way, if you want to explore different outcomes, you can easily reload to before the purification and try for other endings.

Once you reach that stage, head to the shrine marked on the map and place the Sacred Sword into the well with the red water. This will cleanse the sword, letting you unlock the “Fox’s Wedding” ending and keep the powerful weapon.
If you continue playing Silent Hill f as usual, you’ll unlock the “Fox’s Wedding” ending. Be aware that it’s not the most uplifting conclusion, though. If you’re hoping for a happier outcome, you might want to aim for the UFO Ending instead!
