Getting the complete Frostcursed Armor Set in Crimson Desert is thankfully focused in one area – northern Demeniss. The set consists of the Frostcursed Plate Cloak, Helm, Gloves, Boots, and Armor. You’ll find most of the pieces hidden behind waterfalls or inside old ruins, so collecting it is more about figuring out where to go than defeating tough enemies.
The main challenge is that many of these areas require specific abilities to get through. Guides suggest you’ll need Stab to navigate several waterfalls, Force Palm or Force Punch to break down a wall in one location, and Blinding Flash to open a blocked path in another.
What you need before hunting the set
Before you begin exploring, be sure you’re comfortable using the Stab ability. It’s essential for interacting with many areas in the Frostcursed lands of Demeniss. All characters automatically have Stab unlocked, and you’ll need it to get past the waterfalls concealing important items. To fully access the final area, you’ll also need either Force Palm or Force Punch to open a specific chest, and the cloak path requires using Blinding Flash to burn away red roots.
This is important because many guides for getting good items leave out crucial setup steps, leaving players confused and stranded at the beginning of the challenge. If you understand what you need to do beforehand, you can usually complete this set in a single attempt.
Best route for the full Frostcursed Armor Set

The cleanest route is to sweep the area in roughly this order:
- Frostcursed Plate Cloak — Sanctum of Expiation
- Frostcursed Plate Helm — Chattering Rocks
- Frostcursed Plate Gloves — Lunar Spirit Grotto
- Frostcursed Plate Boots — Well of Tragedy Grotto
- Frostcursed Plate Armor — Mistshard Cave
I’ve found a really effective way to get around North Demeniss! It works so well because the places you need to visit aren’t too far apart. PC Gamer even pointed out that going to them in this specific order is actually the fastest way to travel!
Frostcursed Plate Cloak location
You can find the Frostcursed Plate Cloak in the Sanctum of Expiation, located north of Demeniss. The sanctum is east of Drakesfall Gorge in northern Hernand, situated on a hilltop within the ruins. To get the cloak, enter the ruins and find the central courtyard with the crumbling floor. Look for a doorway with stairs leading down to an area filled with red, spiked roots. Use Blinding Flash to burn away the roots, then crawl through the passage. Turn right, carefully avoid the spike trap, and open the chest to get the cloak.
This section is usually the most time-consuming, not because the chest itself is hard to find, but because the route to it is more complex than the waterfall areas. If you’re beginning this set of challenges here, it’s best to eliminate any enemies nearby first, so you can focus on navigating the ruins.
Frostcursed Plate Helm location
You can find the Frostcursed Plate Helm at Chattering Rocks in Demeniss. Go to the southern of the two Chattering Rocks spots, and look for a building with a ladder. The entrance to a secret room, hidden by vines, is around the side – the helm is inside that room.
This location is a small group of ruined buildings surrounding a central pool. Look for a doorway covered in vines next to a stone window and a ladder. The guide recommends using Blinding Flash to burn away the vines, then entering to find and open the chest for the helm.
The specific words in the guides aren’t important. What matters is the process: head to the southern Chattering Rocks ruin, locate the building with the ladder, and search the room hidden by vines. That’s where you’ll find the helm.
Frostcursed Plate Gloves location
You can find the Frostcursed Plate Gloves in Lunar Spirit Grotto, located north of Demeniss. The grotto is behind a waterfall on the Denn River. To get inside, you’ll need to use the Stab ability, then open the treasure chest.
PC Gamer offers a useful tip: head towards the river and look for a waterfall near where it flows east to Tariv. Next to the waterfall, you’ll find a small pile of stones that marks the start of a path leading upwards. Stand directly in front of the waterfall and use the Stab ability to break through. Beyond the waterfall, you’ll find a chest containing the gloves.
From here on out, the path gets much easier to follow. Once you realize the cairns are gently guiding you to these tucked-away, cave-like areas, finding the next two spots will be straightforward.
Frostcursed Plate Boots location
You can find the Frostcursed Plate Boots in the Well of Tragedy Grotto, which is located northeast of Lunar Spirit Grotto. According to Game8, the chest containing the boots is in a small cave called the Well of Tragedy, near the Denn River, north of Demeniss.
The PC Gamer guide explains how to get there: head east from Lunar Spirit Grotto towards Tariv, then follow the river to your left until you see another waterfall. Like with the gloves, there’s a small pile of stones at the bottom. Use the Stab ability to go through the waterfall and find the chest.
If you’re following the guide step-by-step, you should find the boots right after the gloves. The areas where these items are located are very similar, so discovering one will usually lead you to the other quickly.
Frostcursed Plate Armor location
Okay, so I finally found the Frostcursed Plate Armor! It’s hidden in Mistshard Cave, which is pretty far north of the Well of Tragedy in Demeniss. You’ll want to head way up north, and when you get to the cave, you’ll need to use Stab to get past the waterfall. Then, there’s a breakable wall inside – hit it with Force Punch, and the chest with the armor will be right there!
PC Gamer describes a similar path, positioning Mistshard Cave north of the Well of Tragedy Grotto over land. They also point out the waterfall entrance and advise finding the cairn, going through the waterfall, and then using Force Palm on the rock behind it to reveal the last stretch to the chest.
This is the last step, and it often catches players off guard because they think the waterfall is everything. Don’t forget to deal with the blockage immediately after you enter the area.
Every Frostcursed Armor Set location at a glance
For a quick cleanup pass, here is the full set in one place:
- Cloak: Sanctum of Expiation
- Helm: Chattering Rocks
- Gloves: Lunar Spirit Grotto
- Boots: Well of Tragedy Grotto
- Armor: Mistshard Cave
All five items are located in northern Demeniss, and it’s most efficient to gather them in a single, uninterrupted journey rather than making multiple trips back and forth.
Why the Frostcursed set is worth getting
The Frostcursed armor isn’t just for looks; it’s actually quite powerful. According to PC Gamer, it’s one of the best sets for resisting cold in the game. The helmet prevents you from being stunned, and the boots give you bonus experience points and help you climb faster. This makes it great for exploring cold areas, but also valuable for players who want extra abilities beyond just strong defenses.
The main benefit of getting this set early is that it offers powerful items in a focused area, and you don’t need to defeat a difficult boss to access it, based on current guides. This makes it a worthwhile gear run to complete efficiently.
