The popular musical Jesus Christ Superstar, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is coming back to London next summer, and Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder will be starring in the lead role.

The singer, who finished second representing the UK in the 2022 song contest, will star as Jesus in a new production at the London Palladium.

This new version is based on the acclaimed 2017 production from Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. It features a large cast of over 30 performers and was directed by Tim Sheader, with choreography by Olivier Award-winning Drew McOnie.

The first London production of Jesus Christ Superstar was a huge success, running for over eight years and becoming the longest-running West End musical of its time. Tickets go on sale for those who have registered on the official Jesus Christ Superstar website starting at 10am on Tuesday, November 25th. General ticket sales will begin on Wednesday, November 26th, and will be available through LW Theatres.
