Ninja Gaiden 4 is a challenging game, but mastering the parry mechanic can significantly simplify the experience.
As a player, I’ve found that parrying is amazing! It doesn’t just block an enemy’s attack – it lets me immediately strike back, which is super helpful when dealing with everything from regular enemies to tough bosses. It really turns defense into offense!
Want to learn how to parry in Ninja Gaiden 4? Here’s a simple guide to help you master it.
How to parry in Ninja Gaiden 4 explained
Most games let you parry attacks by pressing a dedicated button. However, Ninja Gaiden 4 does things a little differently, offering a unique approach to parrying.
To block an attack, press the attack button (X or Y on Xbox, Square or Triangle on PlayStation) just as your opponent strikes. A successful block will cause a weapon clash and briefly stun your enemy, giving you an opening.
The brief pause in the action lets you land a free attack or use a special move called Fatal Flash, which we’ll explain later.
You automatically have access to this simple block right when the game begins – no unlocking required!
Even though you have a decent amount of time to react, especially compared to games like Sekiro, it’s still a good idea to practice the timing to become comfortable with it.
How to Fatal Flash in Ninja Gaiden 4
Fatal Flash is a fast attack you can do right after blocking an enemy’s hit. To perform it, press the Y button on Xbox or the Triangle button on PlayStation.
You can learn Fatal Flash by buying the basic version from Raven Mentor Tyrant – it costs 900 NinjaCoin.
More powerful versions of the Fatal Flash are available, dealing increased damage, but they require a greater amount of NinjaCoin to use.
- Fatal Flash: 900 NinjaCoin
- Fatal Flash (Bloodraven Form): 9,000 NinjaCoin
- Perfect Fatal Flash: 27,000 NinjaCoin
- Perfect Fatal Flash (Bloodraven Form): 36,000 NinjaCoin
Collecting all versions of Fatal Flash will cost a significant 72,900 NinjaCoin, so it’s a good idea to begin saving now.
