Joe Locke is set to make his West End debut this autumn and tickets are now on sale.
Actress from Heartstopper is set to headline in a fresh, emotionally intense play by acclaimed playwright Samuel D Hunter, titled Clarkston – this will be her significant return to the stage after her role in Marvel’s Agatha All Along.
As a cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that fans will get their first glimpse of Locke before the upcoming Heartstopper movie on Netflix in 2026. But here’s an exclusive piece of news: This September, the show will make its way to London for a brief run at the Palace Theatre, making it an unmissable event for us die-hard fans!
As a passionate film enthusiast, I’ve always admired the captivating world of theater, and although I’ve had the privilege to tread the boards of Broadway in the chilling tale of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” stepping onto the hallowed ground of the West End stage for the first time at the tender age of 21 is a fresh and exhilarating challenge I eagerly embrace.
After the announcement, he expressed his excitement about: “I’m ecstatic to be starting my West End career in Clarkston. The writing of Samuel D Hunter feels so genuinely and authentically human that I felt an instant connection to the play when I first read it.
“I can’t wait to bring this beautiful story to life and share it with audiences in London.”

In the heart of the American West, the narrative unfolds around Clarkston, a tale about two youths yearning to discover their identities beyond the confines of small-town existence.
Jake embarks on a western journey to find himself, stumbles upon Chris, who shares his spirit, working late nights at a rural Costco. As their connection grows, so does their thirst for adventure. Could it be that they’ll discover new purpose by pursuing something greater – just like the pioneering explorers Lewis and Clark once did.
Clarkston tells a contemporary tale reminiscent of a frontier saga, forging a path with themes of friendship, tolerance, romance, and the excitement of fresh adventures.
In this production, Locke will be joined by Ruaridh Mollica, recognized for his recurring roles in HBO’s The Franchise, and stage performer Sophie Melville. The project is under the guidance of director Jack Serio, who recently collaborated with Hunter on the debut of his play Grangeville.
When and where can I see Joe Locke in Clarkston?
Clarkston will open on 17th September at the Trafalgar Theatre in London.
We don’t know how long the run will last, however it’s not likely to be more than 12 weeks.
A convenient way to reach the Trafalgar Theatre is by making your way to Charing Cross station, which can be accessed via the Bakerloo or Northern tube lines, or Southeastern trains.
How to get Clarkston tickets to see Joe Locke live
The pre-sale for Clarkston will commence at 10am on Monday, 21st July, for individuals who have registered through our mailing list.
