Once you finish the Grey Eminence quest in GreedFall: The Dying World and get a recommendation to speak with Peren’s noble families, you’ll need to find money to pay for your trip back to Teer Fradee.
So, I talked to the noble families hoping they’d fund my voyage, and they said they would – as long as I helped them out with something first! This explains everything I need to know about the ‘Crown For A Journey’ quest, and how to figure out that tricky puzzle in the Tomb Of Kings. It’s a bit of a task, but hopefully, it’ll get me sailing soon!
How To Access The Tomb Of Kings

Your group begins a quest to find evidence confirming the prince’s family history. This leads you to an archeological dig site just outside the city of Peren – a large ruin from the time of Astria. You’ll begin your investigation there, searching for clues to help you decide how to proceed.
Leave the city and head a little past the vineyard. You’ll encounter some guards along the way. Have Sybille speak with them, and they’ll allow you to pass.
Head to the Ancient Astrain Ruins by following the quest marker, and be sure to open and take items from every chest and container you see on the path.
Speak with Garip and tell him a story about why you’re visiting. Get to know the rest of the team – they’ll let you know the ruins are full of dangerous creatures and hidden traps, so be careful where you walk. While you’re looking around, the team will work on getting the old wooden elevator up and running.
You’ll find information about each statue, which you can read now or save until you reach the tomb. Go left, around the group, and continue deeper into the ruins. Carefully search the entire area, defeating the dangerous majida you encounter along the way.
You’ll find the first lever after descending the initial stone steps, then taking a left down another set of steps into a small group of rooms. Look for the lever connected to a statue in one of those rooms. Continue deeper into the ruins, moving past the majida.
Use the map to track your progress! Clicking on the markers will help you locate and activate each lever and tower.
To reach the lower level, you’ll need to climb down a ladder and some wooden steps. But be warned – it’s guarded by Majida and Pandroma, who you’ll have to defeat first. The tunnel beyond is filled with Oniscia, unpleasant creatures that can temporarily immobilize you. It’s best to keep your distance from them, or quickly attack to prevent them from grabbing you.
Keep going until you reach the camp near the bridge. You’ll see a wooden elevator on your left, but it’s not working yet. Cross the bridge and explore the blocked area, then return to talk to Garip. He’ll tell you the elevator is now fixed. After that, everyone can rest at the camp.
I was jolted awake by an attack, and the news was awful – Flora was gone. Garip handed me some explosives, and told me to head down to the camp using the elevator. Apparently, the plan is to blow up the blockage across the bridge with them. It’s a grim task, but I need to do what I can.
You can now go inside and follow the on-screen marker to find the next lever. Be sure to defeat the oniscia enemies along the way and collect any useful items you find. After dealing with the oniscia, go up the stairs to find a workbench. When you reach the tomb entrance, you’ll see that it’s locked.
Turn your back to the tomb entrance and jump down into the opening. Proceed through the metal gate, being careful of any traps. You’ll encounter more enemies before you can reach the lever in the next room. Be especially cautious of the trap right in front of the lever itself.
After leaving the area with the second lever, you’ll see a wall built quickly on your left. Use explosives to blast it open and create a path. Don’t forget to open the chest in that small room before continuing to eliminate the majida. Then, climb the walls in front of you and drop down – you’ll end up back near the workbench you found earlier.
Continue following the on-screen marker, being careful of any traps that cause bleeding, until you locate the last lever.
You’ll see a cutscene of the tomb doors opening. Now, return to the tomb entrance to explore the last section of the ruins.
