How to spot enemies in Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 really emphasizes playing as a team. Many players are curious about how to view the enemy locations that their teammates are spotting on the map.

In Battlefield, spotting enemies is crucial. It can help your team capture objectives and prevent surprise attacks.

Here’s how to spot enemies, and why it’s important to do so.

How to spot enemies in Battlefield 6

Finding enemies is simple. By default, you can spot them by pressing L1/LB on a console, or the Q key on a computer. On computers, you can also use the middle mouse button.

To make it easier to use, I suggest changing its button assignment on the console to swap it with R1, and moving grenades to the opposite button.

When you find an enemy, an icon will appear above their head, letting both you and your teammates know they’re there. This icon also shows their location on the minimap, making it easier to coordinate with your team.

Spotting tips

I can’t stress this enough, but you really should be spotting every enemy you can, for two reasons.

You’ll be supporting your team by spotting possible threats before they occur and providing your squad with important information about where the enemy is located.

Also, helping to locate enemies—or ‘spotting’—rewards you with a small amount of experience points. If you or a teammate then defeats that enemy, you’ll receive experience for the ‘assist’.

Make sure you aim precisely, though. You don’t want to waste a shot on a faraway target when danger is right in front of you.

If you’re playing as Recon, remember to mark enemy locations while looking through your scope. You’ll have a clearer view of where they are than your team, and you can provide covering fire to help your squad advance.
