A new challenge in Fortnite asks players to travel a certain distance while affected by tomatoes – essentially, while under the influence of a tomato-themed effect.

This new addition to the current season of The Simpsons – along with the removal of the Homer Clones storyline – appears to be a nod to the famous ‘tomacco’ episode featuring Homer.

Okay, so I was trying to figure out where to find Tomatoes in Fortnite for this quest, and here’s what I learned – everything you need to know is right here!

How to travel distance under the effects of Tomatoes in Fortnite: Where to find Tomatoes

To finish the quest and travel 500 meters while affected by Tomatoes, simply use a Tomato(???) and run that distance. A Tomato(???) is a large, purple tomato – it’s different from the standard Tomatoes you might be familiar with.

First, you’ll need to find a Tomato, but fortunately, there’s one spot on the map where they grow plentifully.

Go to the far northwest corner of the map to find Cletus’ Corn Hole. You’ll see lots of tomato plants there, ready to be harvested!

Okay, so I learned the hard way – don’t just whack the plants with your pickaxe! You’ll ruin them. Instead, you have to search around the fields for buckets. That’s how you actually get what you need from them, apparently!

Interact with one of these buckets and you’ll earn yourself a Tomato(???).

Normal Tomatoes in the game restore 10 health points when eaten. However, during this event, special purple Tomatoes will give you a Low Gravity effect, allowing you to float for 500 meters.

After obtaining a Tomato, toss it at your feet – similar to using a Chug Splash – and then sprint 500 meters to finish the quest!
