The television series “The Handmaid’s Tale” ended in May following six thrilling seasons, culminating in a climactic final episode. However, despite the show’s impressive past accolades, with 77 Emmy nominations throughout its run and winning 15 Emmys including Outstanding Drama Series, the recent episodes were not nominated this year. This unexpected decision might come as a surprise given the show’s Emmy history.
In a departure from his usual role as a director, the filmmaker responsible for “The Godfather” received his initial acting recognition – in the category of guest performances – with his appearance in the movie titled “The Studio“.
This year, the TV series Yellowjackets, despite managing to endure the harsh Canadian winter by means of rebellion and consuming each other, didn’t receive any recognition.
Despite Andor accumulating 14 nominations this year, its leading actor, Diego Luna, was not included among Adam Scott, Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Noah Wyle, and Pedro Pascal in the category for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Similar to her fellow actor Steve, Selena Gomez also missed out on receiving any nominations for the show “Only Murders in the Building”, even though it garnered a total of eight nominations, among them being the category for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The Apple TV+ series featuring Seth Rogen and Kathryn Hahn received widespread praise after its debut, and it truly shone as it garnered 23 nominations. Notably, the show won the category for Outstanding Comedy Series, Ike Barinholtz was recognized with an Outstanding Supporting Actor award, and Seth Rogen himself was honored with an Outstanding Lead Actor nod, among other accolades.
Although Harrison Ford has an extensive acting career, he recently secured his initial Emmy nomination at the age of 83, in the Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series category for “Shrinking”.
Although the final season of the HBO dramedy received praise from critics, it didn’t lead to significant award nominations. The show, featuring actors such as Danny McBride, Adam DeVine, and Edi Patterson, was only recognized in technical categories, including cinematography, music supervision, and sound editing.
Despite not receiving massive online attention like competitors The Pitt and The Studio, the Hulu series managed to secure nominations in key categories. In addition to being recognized as Outstanding Drama Series, Sterling K. Brown was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, James Marsden for Outstanding Supporting Actor, and Julianne Nicholson for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Despite being consistently recognized as a cornerstone in the interview realm, the talk series hosted by Sean Evans unfortunately did not receive a nomination for the Outstanding Talk Series category.

Martin Short received recognition as Outstanding Lead Actor In a Comedy Series for “Only Murders in the Building,” yet Steve Martin, his co-conspirator, was not included on the list.
This year has been exceptionally successful for Bowen Yang. He broke records as the most-nominated Asian male performer in Emmys history with four nominations, one of which was in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for Saturday Night Live (he received this nomination in 2024, 2022, and 2021).
In addition to his role in “Wicked,” another actor was recognized for his work in sketch comedy, and that’s none other than Kenan Thompson who has received nominations an impressive six times.
Although the Netflix series had a strong presence at the 2022 Emmy Awards, boasting 14 nominations, including the category for Best Drama (a first for a non-English series), it unfortunately did not win any awards in any category for its second season.
