Joachim Trier’s film, Sentimental Value, delves into the complicated bonds within families and how past traumas can affect future generations. Featuring acclaimed Scandinavian actors Stellan Skarsgård and Renate Reinsve, the movie centers on a father and daughter struggling with a difficult relationship.
Joachim Trier’s film, already recognized with an Oscar nomination, has been a critical and commercial success, earning numerous award nominations. Despite being overlooked at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Norwegian-language film received eight BAFTA nominations and multiple Golden Globe nominations, winning several awards at both ceremonies.
The movie is up for nine awards at next month’s Oscars, including nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress.
If you missed seeing Sentimental Value in theaters earlier this year, you can now stream it online before the Academy Awards.
