You can watch the historic installation of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury live on the BBC today. This event officially begins the Archbishop’s public work leading the Church of England and the wider Anglican Communion.
I’m so excited to watch history unfold! You can join me by tuning into BBC One or iPlayer to see Archbishop Sarah become the first woman to lead the Church of England as its most senior bishop. It’s a huge moment, as she’ll also be the ceremonial leader for Anglicans around the world – truly inspiring!
As a big fan of seeing history made, I was so pleased to hear that Daisy Scalchi, who heads up religion and ethics at the BBC, confirmed they’re making sure everyone in the UK can watch the Coronation! It’s amazing that we’ll all be able to witness the installation of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, and especially incredible that it’s the first woman to ever hold the position.
I’ve always appreciated the BBC’s dedication to religious programming. It’s so important to me that they acknowledge how much religion, faith, and belief connect people and help us all learn about each other’s perspectives.
