How Whitney Leavitt Made Ticket Sale History in Broadway Debut

Whitney Levitt has added some razzle dazzle to Broadway.

The success speaks for itself. Since Meri Brown, known from “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” started performing in “Chicago” on Broadway on February 2nd, the show has seen a significant boost in ticket sales and has reached several important financial goals.

Ticket sales for the show were remarkably strong between March 8th and 15th, reaching a record $1,457,930.77 – the highest weekly sales in its 29-year run, according to a press release shared with People magazine. Overall, Whitney’s six-week engagement has generated an impressive $8,049,526.31 in revenue.

It’s not surprising that the reality star’s performance has been extended – she’ll now play Roxie Hart until April 5th, beyond her initial run ending on March 15th. Plus, her former Dancing with the Stars partner, Mark Ballas, will be joining the show as Billy Flynn for four weeks.

The influencer, who became well-known through a Hulu show focused on “MomTok,” recently shared her feelings of anxiety about starting to dance.

Whitney, 32, explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the way she was seen after appearing on season one of Secret Lives followed her. She said this perception created insecurity when she moved to a new platform, as she worried she lacked the support of a dedicated fanbase.

She was completely wrong, of course. You don’t achieve record-breaking success on Broadway with an audience that dislikes you.

I was incredibly surprised, and still am, by the support I’ve received. The record-breaking ticket sales for Chicago wouldn’t be possible without the amazing community cheering me on. It was a truly overwhelming and beautiful experience.

Whitney, who is married to Connor Leavitt and has three children – Sedona (6), Liam (4), and Billy Gene (17 months) – recently shared that she’ll be playing Roxie Hart in the famous Broadway musical. This announcement comes after she competed on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars.

Looking back on her experience on the dance competition show, where she and Mark reached the semifinals, she explained that she gained a lot, even though she didn’t win the championship.

She shared in a November Instagram video that the experience helped her build genuine friendships and strong connections with others. It also allowed her to learn a lot about herself, surround herself with supportive people, and push her own boundaries, leaving her feeling truly loved.
