Howie Mandel is apologizing for an eyebrow-raising interaction.
Following a playful conversation with Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Mark on March 24th, where she commented on how good he looks for his age (70), the America’s Got Talent judge clarified that any jokes made weren’t meant to be taken seriously and offered an apology if they were misunderstood.
Howie, 70, shared in an Instagram video on March 29 that he’d been wrestling with whether to post something. While on the beach, he admitted he wasn’t sure if he was making the right decision, but added that he doesn’t think comedians should have to apologize for their jokes.
That said, he noted how he and Kelly have had a solid working relationship for years.
He explained that the interaction was intended as a joke and wasn’t meant to cause offense. He specifically mentioned it was for Kelly Ripa, who has been a long-time supporter. He’s been a guest on her show multiple times, even co-hosting with her, and they’ve known each other for years.
I just try to have fun and make people laugh when I perform,” he explained. “Sometimes jokes don’t quite hit the way you expect them to, and that’s just part of being a comedian.
Despite intending his comments as a joke, Howie Mandel, known from Deal or No Deal, made amends with the daytime talk show host. Mandel did this after the host remarked during his appearance on ABC that the comedian remarkably maintains his good looks at age 70 – a gesture fitting for Mandel’s personality.

Howie apologized to Kelly, but added with a touch of humor, “You were right, and I was wrong. I didn’t realize it at the time, but after thinking about it, I feel really good for my age!”
“I look fantastic,” he added, “and I just have to embrace the fact that I look this good.”
During the controversial live TV appearance, Mark Consuelos supported his wife by telling Howie he looked “great.” However, the author of Here’s the Deal: Don’t Touch Me wasn’t interested in empty compliments.

“That doesn’t really matter,” Howie said, quickly adding with a gesture, “No, I don’t like that at all. It’s like adding a condition – if you tell someone you’re seventy, they’ll say, ‘you look great’ – “
Oh my gosh, he said the funniest thing! He was totally making fun of backhanded compliments, like when someone says, ‘You’re smart… for you,’ you know? It got such a huge laugh! And then he just casually dropped that he doesn’t think he looks good! It was so self-deprecating and hilarious, I’m obsessed! He’s just so relatable, even when he’s being witty. I can’t stop thinking about it!
After Kelly and Mark showered him with compliments, Howie couldn’t help but playfully respond, “You know what? I’m actually pretty handsome.”
Okay, so Howie seemed to make things right with Kelly and Mark, but honestly, there’s still plenty of drama brewing! I’m already bracing myself for more conflicts that aren’t so easily resolved… I need to know what happens next!

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, two months after announcing he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left in the image.)
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it was unrelated to their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. It was something they’d been dealing with privately for a while.
I was really surprised to see the claims from March 2024 about Tan supposedly trying to get his friend Jeremiah Brent onto Queer Eye instead of Bobby. It was upsetting to hear, and he finally addressed those allegations then.
Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about a recent casting, and I wanted to clear things up. Netflix and the production team really did a thorough search – they looked at everyone. I definitely didn’t push my friend for the role, they earned it fair and square – they truly were the best fit. And to be clear, I didn’t have anyone else removed to make room for them. They got the job on their own merit, period.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne described actor Danny Masterson – known for his role in “That ’70s Show” – as the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She called him a “rude little boy” and a “dastardly little thing.”
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset during his 2014 appearance on The Talk because she had misspoken his name.
She remembered him asking, “Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?” Her response was blunt: “Listen, young man, don’t challenge me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you. You have no idea who you’re talking to.”

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed being feminine.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, saying Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Soon after, Bure apologized publicly, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and felt bad about not taking the picture. She specifically said, “I feel crummy, I’m so sorry, JoJo.”
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday movies, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’s comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful” to the LGBTQ+ community.

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional image without giving proper credit. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

I was so surprised to hear Ron Howard talking about this on Watch What Happens Live! He was asked about his time working with Tom Hanks on Turner & Hooch back in 1989, and apparently, they didn’t really click on set. It was fascinating to hear him discuss what happened behind the scenes.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to hit it off. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said, “we got along wonderfully.”
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Those who watched The Hills likely remember a famous line from Lauren during the third season’s first episode. The conflict started when Heidi began dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt, and escalated when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler, alleging they had made a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out that started in 2017. It began when Tyrese criticized Dwayne on Instagram after the release of Fast and Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. A month later, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne was still involved.
Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on the The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly. He mentioned he had talked to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not to Johnson himself, and hopes to have a conversation with him in the future.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others involved with the franchise, saying it was unprofessional and a mistake on his part. He explained he was the only one who spoke out, and takes responsibility for that.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to have even fueled Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began due to a disagreement over a dancer and competition between their tours, was resolved when Katy sent Taylor an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and later made comments about her co-star that sparked controversy.
During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.
She was really upset, saying she felt heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she explained she didn’t remember things the same way, finding the situation very disturbing.
It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the shared experience we all had. It started as a job, but over the years, it became something deeply personal. I’m hoping that the impact of those years, and the special connection we all felt, will outweigh any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful for so long.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances, using strong language to suggest she relied on lip-syncing. He famously said that anyone who pretends to sing live during a paid concert deserves harsh consequences.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained her decision by saying she didn’t believe she had been given strong enough storylines to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently demonstrates their true character, you should believe them,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s been a valuable lesson for me.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that someone has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the person continued to attack her.
The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had reportedly reacted to a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting, though Nicki claims she didn’t actually engage with it.
I was set to earn a lot of money from my Bruno Mars tour, but I chose to stay home with my daughter instead,” Cardi explained. “I love my daughter, and I’m a really good mom. It’s frustrating when people without kids criticize that decision. People say the party wasn’t the right time or place to see another artist, but I don’t expect to run into someone famous at the grocery store or just walking around town again.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when Kanye interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which included a reference to Taylor.
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for the action, and Taylor didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2003 during a German television interview. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey famously said, “I don’t know her.”
