The Consumer Electronics Show has once again brought a flood of new technology announcements. HP is making a big impact at CES 2026, unveiling a completely updated line of OmniBook laptops designed for everyday users.
HP announced a lot of new laptops at this year’s CES, with updated designs, new technology from companies like Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD, and a total of five different series. While there were many options, one laptop in particular really caught my attention.
Meet the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 – it’s a redesigned laptop that’s thinner, lighter, and built to last. It features a special, high-performance version of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, and it’s coming out sooner than you might think.
Lots of OmniBooks, but my eyes are on the Ultra

In 2026, HP plans to release a new lineup of computers powered by the latest processors from Qualcomm (Snapdragon X2), Intel (Core Ultra Series 3), and AMD (Ryzen 400). These new devices will come in various styles, sizes, and price ranges.
The affordable OmniBook 3 and 5 series laptops will be available in February, starting at $500. Higher-end OmniBook 7 and X series laptops will follow in the spring. While there will be many choices across these four lines, I’m particularly excited about the top-of-the-line models.
The HP OmniBook Ultra 14 (G2) features an improved and more sophisticated design, building on the look first seen in the HP OmniBook X Flip I previously reviewed. This is a welcome change, as many other HP OmniBook models have a fairly simple aesthetic.
HP showcased a huge number of new OmniBook laptops at CES 2026, but one model in particular really stood out.
As a tech fan, I’m seriously impressed with this laptop. It’s incredibly light – over 50% lighter than the previous model, coming in under 3 pounds! Plus, it’s noticeably slimmer than the latest MacBook Air, around 11mm thin. They’ve really focused on making it tough too, passing a whopping 20 MIL-STD-810 durability tests. But honestly, what *really* gets me excited is that it doesn’t compromise on power at all – it’s a seriously capable machine.
The OmniBook Ultra 14 will be available later this month with either Qualcomm or Intel processors, starting around $1,550. A special version will feature an HP-exclusive Snapdragon X2 Elite processor – it has 18 cores, a faster 5.0GHz speed, and a powerful AI engine capable of 85 TOPS.
HP’s OmniBook laptops have been consistently impressive recently, offering something for almost everyone thanks to the wide variety available. I’m particularly excited to try the new HP OmniBook Ultra 14, especially the model with the Snapdragon processor in blue.

What are your thoughts on the new OmniBook devices HP unveiled at CES 2026? Is the OmniBook Ultra 14 getting the recognition it deserves?
