Netflix is getting ready to revive a classic science fiction show. All ten seasons of Stargate SG-1 will be available on the platform, giving fans a chance to watch or re-watch the popular series. This is a significant addition to Netflix’s content lineup, expected in early 2026.
Stargate SG-1 coming back to Netflix soon
In early 2026, Netflix will expand its science fiction offerings by bringing back the popular series Stargate SG-1. All 10 seasons of the show will be available on the platform after a new agreement with MGM. Stargate SG-1 was previously available on Netflix but was removed in 2022.
Starting February 15, 2026, all 214 episodes of the show – from all ten seasons – will be available to stream on Netflix. It won’t just be available in the US; select countries like the UK and parts of Latin America will also have access.
Stargate, created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner, is based on the 1994 film by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich. Picking up a year after the movie ends, the series centers on the SG-1 team as they travel through an ancient portal to explore new planets, make friends with different cultures, and protect Earth from enemies.
I absolutely loved watching Richard Dean Anderson as Colonel Jack O’Neill, alongside Michael Shanks as Dr. Daniel Jackson, Amanda Tapping as Major Carter, Christopher Judge as Teal’c, and Don S. Davis as the always-steady General Hammond. It’s hard to believe it all started way back on July 27, 1997, and ran until March 13, 2007! It was an amazing journey.
Even years after it first aired, Stargate SG-1 remains incredibly popular with viewers. It currently has a 90% average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. With renewed interest in the Stargate world, the show has returned to Netflix. Plus, Amazon’s Prime Video has confirmed they’re working on a brand new Stargate series, although details about the story and who will star in it haven’t been revealed yet.
