Rumors of a romance between Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster started around a year ago, and now the pair seem to be happily dating and supporting each other’s careers. Jackman recently shared a heartwarming photo and video on social media celebrating a “magical” performance by Foster on Broadway.
Sutton Foster recently began a residency at Café Carlyle in New York City, with her first show on November 25th. As she starts her performances, which continue through December 6th, Hugh Jackman used Instagram to publicly support her. He posted the day after her opening night:

This new residency comes about a year after Foster completed her Broadway run in Once Upon a Mattress. Before that, she appeared in the revival of Sweeney Todd, and in 2022, she starred in The Music Man with Hugh Jackman. It’s fantastic to see this Broadway star doing a residency in New York, especially considering her incredible performances on stage over the past three years.
I especially loved Jackman mentioning that this is a fantastic way to start the holidays. I’d really enjoy hearing Sutton Foster sing some show tunes and Christmas songs leading up to the holiday season.
This moment is a standout from Foster’s performance, and it really showcases the charming connection she shares with the star of Deadpool and Wolverine. The small wave she gives him in the clip is especially sweet.
This recent appearance fits with the happy vibe we’ve been seeing from them. Hugh Jackman and Sabrina Foster made their first public appearance as a couple on the red carpet in late October, attending the premiere of Jackman’s upcoming film, Song Sung Blue. They both looked cheerful, just like Foster appeared in her recent social media post.
In September 2024, Hugh Jackman and his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, announced their separation, about nine months after Jackman finished performing in The Music Man on Broadway. Shortly after, in October 2024, Sutton Foster filed for divorce from her husband of ten years, Ted Griffin. By January 2025, Jackman and Foster were seen holding hands, sparking dating rumors. Some within the Broadway community claimed the two had been having an affair prior to the public sightings.
Recently, details have emerged about how Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are navigating their separation while still appearing together publicly. In June, Michael Urie, a co-star with Parker in Once Upon a Mattress, expressed hope that they would one day co-star in a production of Much Ado About Nothing.
Although Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are currently separated, they’re still clearly supportive of each other. Jackman is preparing for the release of his new film, Song Song Blue, around Christmas, and Furness is continuing to impress audiences with her performances in New York City.
