Hulu’s Best Sci-Fi Show Confirms Return Date With Big Schedule Change

Hulu’s popular sci-fi show will be back with new episodes this summer! Along with the new season, Hulu is having a great summer for animation fans, continuing its success with revived classic series. Both King of the Hill, premiering in July, and Futurama, returning in August, will be available on the streaming service.

Hulu has confirmed that Futurama will return for its 14th season on August 3rd. However, unlike previous seasons (like season 13 and the King of the Hill revival), the new episodes won’t all be released at once. Instead, Hulu will release episodes weekly, meaning fans can enjoy new Futurama throughout the summer.

Futurama Season 14 Confirms Hulu Release Date

The new season of Futurama, Season 14, will begin streaming on Hulu on August 3rd, with episodes released each week. While details are still under wraps, producer David X. Cohen hinted at a significant storyline for Zoidberg, telling ComicBook last year that a particularly touching episode involving a romance for the character is on the way. He believes it will be a very moving and satisfying episode for fans, and that Zoidberg will play a more prominent role in the new season.

Cohen also mentioned the challenges of potentially ending Futurama again with the final episode of Season 14. He told ComicBook that writing a sixth series finale is becoming increasingly difficult. In the past, they often focused on the future of Fry and Leela, but now that they’ve explored that, they’re aiming for a bittersweet feeling. While he doesn’t want to definitively say the show is over for good, he believes the characters will continue to exist even if we don’t see them, and he wants to end the series with authentic emotion.

Is Futurama Season 14 Going to End the Series?

Cohen just hinted that the finale of Futurama Season 14 is going to give us a glimpse into Fry’s childhood – and he says it’s going to be really emotional, building on what we’ve seen in past episodes. It sounds amazing! Hulu brought Futurama back for these revival seasons after the first two did so well, but we’re all hoping they’ll keep the show going beyond seasons 13 and 14. Fingers crossed!

The actors and voice talent behind Futurama are eager for the show to continue. Billy West, who voices several characters, recently told ComicBook that they’re all hoping for another season and he’s ready to come back if they decide to make one. If not, he joked that he plans to travel the world – or what’s left of it!
