2026 has been a fantastic year for science fiction, with the highly anticipated film Project Hail Mary receiving excellent reviews and predicted to have a huge opening weekend. Plus, the popular dystopian series on Hulu recently returned for its second season. There’s even more sci-fi content on the way this year, and fans have another season of Paradise to look forward to beyond 2026.
Hulu announced on Tuesday that ‘Paradise’ will return for a third season. While the second season is set to conclude on March 30th, this renewal may also be the show’s last, intentionally bringing the story to a close after Season 3. The series has been both popular and well-received by critics.
Paradise Has Always Been Set Up as a 3-Season Series (But Does That Mean a Fourth Season Can’t Happen?)
The sci-fi series Paradise has been well-received by audiences, but it was always intended to be relatively short-lived. Creator Dan Fogelman originally planned just three seasons, and executive producer John Hoberg has confirmed this, stating that Season 3 will conclude the story. They’ve already determined the ending and believe continuing beyond that point would be challenging.
According to showrunner Noah Hoberg, the way the current season concludes will likely prevent a fourth season from happening, as it creates a difficult situation for continuing the story, he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Although the plan is to maintain the three-season structure of Paradise, expect each season to feel unique. Past seasons have been noticeably different from one another, which aligns with the creator’s hints that the show subtly reinvents itself each time. This approach allows each season to build upon the overall narrative, suggesting that even if the main storyline – focusing on Xavier Collins and the mystery of his wife – wraps up in Season 3, there’s still potential for the Paradise universe to continue.
However, the thought that Paradise is nearing its final season might actually be true – it could really be the end. If the show follows its planned storyline – and the creator has stated they’re already deep into planning Season 3 – at least fans will know there’s a definite conclusion coming, instead of being left uncertain about the future.
There Are Still 2 More Episodes of Season 2 of Paradise
Even though Paradise has been renewed for a third season, there are still two episodes left in Season 2. Following this week’s episode, which revealed the history of agent Jane Driscoll (Nicole Brydon Bloom), the season will conclude with “The Final Countdown” on March 2nd and “Exodus” on March 30th. With only these two episodes remaining, viewers can anticipate a lot more action and suspense.
