Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of popular anime like Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho, recently returned to working on Hunter x Hunter after a long break. However, due to ongoing health problems, new chapters are being released slowly. Beyond his manga, Togashi is also known for his personal life – he’s married to Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon. Recently, he’s shown his affection for his wife’s work by including a character from Sailor Moon in his manga.
Yoshihiro Togashi and Naoko Takeuchi have been married since 1999 – over twenty-five years ago! Despite their long relationship, there’s never been an official crossover featuring characters from Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter meeting Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon characters. Recently, Togashi joined X (formerly Twitter) and quickly became the most-followed manga creator ever, now boasting over 3.4 million followers and counting. While he usually uses social media to update fans on Hunter x Hunter, he recently surprised everyone by drawing Sailor Mars, a character from his wife’s famous series. You can see this fun crossover artwork below.

Hunter & Scouts
Both Hunter x Hunter and Sailor Moon fans are currently waiting for new anime content, as neither franchise has any new projects in development. After Studio Madhouse finished animating Hunter x Hunter, there’s been no indication they’ll return, and no other studio has picked up the series. Although the Hunter x Hunter manga is still ongoing thanks to its author, Togashi, the Sailor Moon manga concluded in the late 1990s and hasn’t seen any new chapters. While previous anime adaptations boosted Sailor Moon‘s popularity, its creator, Takeuchi, hasn’t suggested a return to the series.
I’ve been following Hunter x Hunter, and the manga is currently deep into the Succession Contest Arc. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Gon and Killua take center stage – this arc focuses more on Kurapika. He’s caught up in a huge royal conflict that will decide the fate of a nation, which has temporarily put his quest for the Phantom Troupe on hold. Fans, myself included, are really hoping that when the anime returns, it will finally adapt some of the manga chapters that haven’t been animated yet – there’s a good amount of content still waiting to be brought to life!
We’re excited about this incredible anime team-up built on a heartwarming connection! Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
