Hunting Wives’ Malin Akerman Teases Plot of Season 2

Fans of The Hunting Wives are in for a treat.

Although actress Malin Åkerman, who plays Margo Banks in the Netflix series, isn’t able to reveal many details about the second season, she promises the strong and honest women of Maple Brook, Texas, will be delivering a powerful performance.

Malin revealed at Variety’s 2025 Power of Women Los Angeles event on October 29th that, while she hasn’t read the script yet as it’s still being finalized, the writers have surpassed the quality of the first season. She told Erin Lim Rhodes of TopMob News, “They’ve topped season one.”

She also mentioned there were some amazing scenes that really impressed her, and she believes audiences will be thrilled with the final product.

Viewers quickly connected with the women in Maple Brook during the first season. The show centered on Sophie (Brittany Snow), a newcomer to the area, and her journey as she became involved in the town’s traditional and close-knit community, largely influenced by a woman named Margo.

Malin believes Margo, the character ultimately responsible for Abby Jackson (Madison Wolfe)’s death, became a fan favorite due to the talented team behind the show.

Malin praised the writers and the show’s creator for developing such a complex and fascinating character. She described the experience of playing her as a process of making the character feel authentic and relatable, even within the show’s outlandish setting. It’s been a real journey, she said, to bring this character to life.

She explained they needed to make people adore Margo Banks, even if she wasn’t always the nicest person, because they cared about her deeply.

Viewers were captivated by the show’s unexpected turns, steamy moments, and especially by Margo’s incredible hair – the wig worn by the actress Malin became a standout feature. Malin hinted that Margo will have even more amazing hairstyles in the second season.
