I’m a big fan of *Big Brother* and sometimes watch *The Amazing Race*. So, I was really interested when I heard rumors that Season 38 of *The Amazing Race* would have a cast made up entirely of people from *Big Brother* and their families and friends.
I was starting to wonder if I’d get tired of watching *Big Brother* by the time the new season aired. After seeing almost 90 days of exciting gameplay, I wasn’t sure if I’d still be enthusiastic about watching former houseguests compete for the million-dollar prize.
I was curious if the new season of *Big Brother* (Season 27) would be more captivating than *The Amazing Race* (Season 38), potentially making the latter seem dull. However, it turned out to be the other way around.
I Am Hoping The Big Brother Season Of The Amazing Race Makes Up For My Disappointment in Big Brother Season 27
I’m really not enjoying season 27 of *Big Brother*. They eliminated a fan favorite in a frustrating way, and I’m just not as engaged with this season as I’d like to be. The ‘BB Block Buster’ competition went on for way too long, and it feels like strategy and social skills aren’t really making a difference this year. While there’s nothing *wrong* with the cast, they’re not particularly captivating to watch. The live feeds have been pretty dull since Rachel Reilly left, even though I only recently started appreciating her gameplay.
After watching for 25 years, this season has really made me re-evaluate the show. I’m hoping the new season of *The Amazing Race* will help me regain my enjoyment of *Big Brother*. While the two shows are very different, seeing familiar faces from *Big Brother* might remind me of what I used to love about it.

The Cast Includes Some Of My Favorite Big Brother Houseguests
I really enjoyed Season 26 of *Big Brother* just for the fun of it. Interestingly, Season 38 of *The Amazing Race* included four people who were also on that *Big Brother* season.
Get ready for some drama with Tucker Des Lauriers and Angela Murray! It’ll be interesting to see how their unpredictable personalities fare on *The Amazing Race*. Chelsie Baham is a legendary *Big Brother* player – she’s incredibly strategic, socially savvy, and competitive. It will be fascinating to watch how those skills translate to a race across Europe.
I was a big fan of Rubina Bernabe while watching the live feeds of Big Brother Season 26. She’s a genuinely kind and funny person, but I don’t think the show’s episodes really captured that. The Amazing Race would be a great platform to let her personality and determination shine.
I’m a big fan of Taylor Hale, a past winner of *Big Brother*, so I always enjoy seeing her on reality TV. Izzy Gleicher was a standout player on *Big Brother 25* – she’s really funny, and I wish the show had shown more of her. Because Izzy is so involved in the *Big Brother* and reality TV world, watching her on *The Amazing Race* feels like cheering on a friend.
Joseph Abdin seems like a genuinely good person, and I’m really looking forward to watching him on *The Amazing Race*. I’m also a big fan of some of the other contestants, especially as someone who follows *Big Brother* closely. It’ll be great to see them compete on *The Amazing Race* again, and I’m expecting some entertaining moments from the whole cast this season.

I Have Heard A Lot Of Teasers About The Drama, And Can’t Wait To See It Unfold
I’ve been keeping up with news about *The Amazing Race* Season 38 and have heard hints from contestants and people close to them. There’s buzz that this season will be particularly challenging, and some drama involving the players from *Big Brother*.
This season of *The Amazing Race* promises to be really dramatic! The trailer alone has me hooked – I’m especially curious about why Adam is sick and Kat is so upset. I need to know who breaks down in tears while talking to host Phil Keoghan. I’m definitely excited to watch!

I Want To See How The Preexisting Relationships Impact The Amazing Race
This season will feature 14 returning players and 12 new ones. What’s really interesting is that the returning players are competing with their family members, and I’m eager to see how those relationships play out. For instance, Chelsie is competing alongside her dad, Jack, and Angela is with her daughter, Lexi. It will be fascinating to watch how these parent-child dynamics affect the competition.
Competing against a parent is much harder than competing against a sibling. That’s the situation for Kyland Young and Taylor, who are now competing on *Big Brother* together. Fans who follow these houseguests after the show know they’ve had an unpredictable relationship, but this is the first time viewers will see them interact as a couple, as they’ve kept their romance very private.
It’ll be fascinating to watch Tucker and Rubina compete against each other on different teams, especially since they were dating during filming in March and April 2025, but have since broken up. While the demands of the race will probably limit their interactions on *The Amazing Race* 38, the trailer already shows them sharing a kiss. Expect to see moments highlighting their relationship as it was then, adding an extra layer of interest. I don’t think any previous season of *The Amazing Race* has featured a couple competing *against* each other.
These individuals aren’t working together as a team, but they genuinely want to see each other succeed. This is especially true for Joseph and Taylor, who are former partners but remain close friends. The question is, how does their relationship affect their chances of winning the prize money – do they help or hinder each other?
Most of the people on *Big Brother* already have some connection to each other. They might be old friends, recent acquaintances, or people they met while working on the show. These existing or newly formed relationships often influence how the season plays out.

I Hope It Feels Like An Extended Version Of Big Brother Without The Stress
I enjoy watching *Big Brother*, but it definitely makes me anxious. It’s typically over 90 days of stressful moments and can feel a little crazy. I’ve seen at least ten seasons of *The Amazing Race*, and it’s never given me that same feeling.
I’ve noticed some seasons featuring contestants from *Big Brother*, and I usually don’t know who wins. But that’s okay – I watch just for fun and enjoy supporting people I recognize. I’m approaching this season of *The Amazing Race* with the same attitude. I’ll pick favorites and enjoy the show without getting too invested in the outcome. It’s a good way to transition back to watching regular live feeds after being so focused on *Big Brother* all summer, without completely letting go of my favorite show.
The Amazing Race Season 38 premieres on CBS on Thursday, September 25.
