Lately, Adam Sandler has been discussing family, his work as an actor, and his love of basketball, especially with his new Netflix film, Jay Kelly, and a recent event he co-hosted with Timothée Chalamet at Fairfax High School. In a new interview, Sandler talked about how he manages his long-running career, which started with Saturday Night Live, while still prioritizing his wife and daughters. It’s a sweet picture… until he jokingly shared just how wild things get at home whenever Timothée Chalamet visits!
While on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about his new movie coming out in 2025 and a memorable basketball game from his past, Adam Sandler explained how his family changes when Timothée Chalamet comes to visit. Before telling the story of how he and Chalamet lost a two-on-two game to high school students, Sandler said:
My family isn’t thrilled about how close I am to Timmy, but when he visits, the whole atmosphere at home shifts. Everyone acts differently – even my wife makes an extra effort with her appearance. It’s a bit strange, but I don’t mind.
It’s easy to see why the Sandler family goes a little crazy when Timothée Chalamet visits! He has that effect on people – many in Hollywood are instantly charmed by him. Apparently, the women in Adam Sandler’s family completely fall for “Timmy,” and the resulting chaos would be hilarious to watch. Someone really should film it!

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, the Saturday Night Live alum shared that he’s known Timothée Chalamet since he was a child, long before his roles in Little Women or his latest film, Marty Supreme. They actually worked on a movie together years ago, but Chalamet’s part was ultimately cut. Recently, they met up again at a Netflix event at Fairfax High, where they played a two-on-two basketball game against some students. The comedian said he and Chalamet were soundly defeated by the teenagers.
Sandler joked about losing, saying, “I can’t win every game.” The students loved it, but Sandler revealed his family gets even more excited when he comes home, especially when his daughters find out he’s been spending time with Timothée Chalamet. He says his daughters definitely have thoughts on that! He described a noticeable change in the atmosphere as soon as Chalamet enters the room. You can watch the full, funny interview below.
Adam Sandler is about to release his new film, Jay Kelly, a funny and heartfelt movie directed by Noah Baumbach. The film stars George Clooney as a famous actor and Sandler as his longtime manager, and it follows them on a journey through Europe where they reflect on their careers and relationships. Jay Kelly premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, had a limited theatrical release in November, and will be available to stream on Netflix worldwide starting December 5th.
Okay, look, if Adam Sandler and Timothée Chalamet ever decided to face off against those kids from Fairfax again? I’d be there opening night. Actually, scratch that – I’d be second in line, right after Sandler’s wife and daughters, because they’d definitely be front and center!
