I Feel Like Invincible VS Is Going to Obliterate the Competition

Skybound Games first revealed their upcoming fighting game, Invincible VS, back in June 2025, though it may feel like it was announced much earlier. Fans are really excited for the game, which looks set to be a major new title in the fighting game world. The good news is the wait isn’t much longer – Invincible VS will launch in April 2026. You can pre-order it now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Based on what we’ve seen so far, Invincible VS is expected to be a huge hit and could easily become the top game in the genre.

There are several reasons to be excited about Invincible VS, but the biggest one is its source material. The game is based on the popular animated series on Amazon Prime, which itself is based on the Image Comics title. Importantly, the original voice actors are returning for the game. This is a huge draw for fans of the show. Beyond that, the Invincible universe is packed with incredibly powerful characters, many of whom are perfectly suited for a fighting game. The comics and show are known for their brutal fights, and that intensity translates perfectly to this new game.

Invincible VS Will Kill the Competition

It’s important to acknowledge the competitive landscape. Several new fighting games and updates to existing titles are planned for 2026, meaning Invincible VS won’t be the only option available. Street Fighter 6 is likely the biggest competitor, with its fourth season expected to launch in 2026. Given Capcom’s strong position in the fighting game genre and the Street Fighter series’ history of success, many players will likely be drawn to it. However, Street Fighter 6 originally came out in 2023, so while new content is welcome, it doesn’t offer the same appeal as a completely fresh game.

While Riot Games’ 2v2 fighting game, 2XKO, is gaining popularity after its release last October, Invincible VS promises even more intense action that should appeal to a wider audience. Invincible, in all its forms – the comics, the TV show, and now the game – doesn’t shy away from graphic violence. Beyond games like Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which hasn’t shared many details since it was announced, Skybound Games’ new Invincible fighting game has a lot of potential. Here’s a rundown of what we know about Invincible VS and what players can expect.

Okay, so I’m super hyped for Invincible VS! At the start, you’ll be able to play as 18 different characters. They’ve already shown off Anissa, Atom Eve, Battle Beast, Bulletproof, Cecil, and this new character they made just for the game, Ella Mental. Of course, Invincible and Omni-Man are in there, along with Lucan, Monster Girl, Rex Splode, Robot, and Thula. They’re also planning to add four more characters as DLC later on. The way it works is you build a team of three, and you can switch between them during fights, even in the middle of a combo! If you’re getting beat up, you can try a counter-tag to escape. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, the whole thing looks amazing, really fluid, and… well, it’s definitely gonna be as brutal and bloody as the show!

Invincible VS’s Gore Puts Mortal Kombat to Shame

Robert Kirkman, who created the Invincible series, has confirmed that the upcoming game, Invincible VS, will be very graphic – it’s essential to the feel of the Invincible world. The game will offer both a story-driven cinematic mode and player-versus-player combat, aiming to make players feel like they’re actually controlling a character from the universe. It’s expected to stand out from other games by being exceptionally brutal, potentially surpassing existing titles and new releases. While its success isn’t guaranteed, early signs suggest Invincible VS could be a major hit.

I’m SO hyped for Invincible VS to finally come out on April 30, 2026! I can’t wait – and I’m already heading over to the ComicBook Forum to chat about it with everyone. Come join me!
