I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but my dog has become quite deaf. It’s either that, or he’s just really good at ignoring me after almost 15 years! Sometimes I need to physically encourage him to go outside, and I even have to check to see if he’s breathing on occasion. But surprisingly, he *did* react when I was watching a show called *The Chair Company* soon after the first episode of Tim Robinson’s new series aired in 2025.
I wasn’t upset because of any over-the-top reactions to the show’s awkward moments – the one about a man uncovering a conspiracy. Actually, there was an early joke in “Life Goes By Too Fucking Fast, It Really Does” that made me laugh so much the actor playing the man heard me and gave me a truly confused look.
HBO Max offers streaming plans starting at $9.99 per month. It’s a great option if you’re interested in watching shows like *The Chair Company* or *Friendship*, and provides access to thousands of hours of movies and TV shows. See the deal here.

Ron Trosper Waking Up To Complain About His Pillow Just About Killed Me
I’m completely hooked on Tim Robinson’s comedy – it’s both incredibly funny and deeply awkward, which is a really rare combination. Honestly, only someone like Nathan Fielder with his show *Rehearsal* manages that same feeling. His new show, *The Chair Company*, is nailing that perfect balance of humor and cringe, and the first episode is full of moments I won’t forget. There’s this one scene early on where his character, Ron Trosper, just randomly wakes up in the middle of the night and starts yelling…
I swear, I have the worst pillow in town. This thing is made of god damnned metal.
This joke, like many of Robinson’s funniest, was completely unexpected and really made me laugh out loud. It startled me so much, it might have even woken up my old dog and made him stare! The scene doesn’t have any lead-up or follow-through – it just abruptly ends, and the show moves on as if nothing happened.

The Jokes In The Chair Company Are Off The Rails
The humor in the first episode is wild, unpredictable, and genuinely hilarious. If the entire season maintains this level of craziness, it could easily be the best work Robinson has ever done – and that’s saying something, considering I loved the over-the-top comedy of Ugly Sonic in *Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers*.
The show is hilarious – from silly jokes like the terrible pillow to absurd bits about wheelbarrows and even Ron enjoying a deviled egg days later, it’s consistently funny. I’m really excited to see what happens next!

But I Have A Feeling This Show Is Going To Stress Me Out
Like everything Zach Robinson touches, including the hilarious show *I Think You Should Leave*, I suspect his new series *The Chair Company* will be incredibly stressful to watch. It might not be *quite* as agonizing as *Friendship* was when it came out earlier this year, but the season has just begun, so there’s still time.
The very first episode is filled with cringe-worthy moments! There’s the infamous chair mishap that sets everything in motion, an uncomfortable encounter with a waitress, and a really unsettling conversation with a colleague that leaves you on edge. Just thinking about it makes me anxious!
I’m still planning on watching *The Chair Company* thanks to my HBO Max subscription, but honestly, I might do it when my deaf dog isn’t around to give me those side-eyes. It feels like she’s judging my viewing choices!
