Under the direction of BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Kirk Jones, who is known for movies like “Waking Ned” and “Nanny McPhee”, comes the trailer for “I SWEAR“. In this production, Robert Aramayo (“The Rings of Power”, “The King’s Man”, “Behind Her Eyes”) takes on the role of John Davidson. The supporting cast is equally impressive with three-time BAFTA nominee Maxine Peake (“Words of War”, “The Theory of Everything”, “Say Nothing”), BAFTA winner Shirley Henderson (“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy”, “Trainspotting”), and acclaimed actor Peter Mullan, who has won both the Cannes Best Actor Award and the Golden Lion (“War Horse”, “The Magdalene Sisters”).
Born with Tourette’s at the age of 15, John Davidson navigated numerous challenges throughout his teenage years and early adulthood due to a condition that was not well-known or understood in 1980’s Britain. “I SWEAR” is an amusing, heartfelt, and emotionally powerful memoir detailing John’s personal journey.
The movie was created by Kirk Jones, Georgia Bayliff, and Piers Tempest, under the banners of One Story High and Tempo Productions. John Davidson and Cindy Jones serve as executive producers.
I SWEAR will be released by STUDIOCANAL in the UK and Ireland on 10th October 2025.
