“I Was in Tears”: Demon Slayer Star Shares the Infinity Castle Film’s Most Memorable Moment

In the United States, preparations are underway for the premiere of the first movie in the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” trilogy. Tickets are now available, and as expected, the anime has already been smashing records even before its release, following its success in Japan. The film continues from where the Hashira Training Arc finale left off, with Demon Slayers ambushing Muzan Kibutsuji after their master, Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s death. Tamayo is given a brief opportunity to inject Muzan with a powerful antidote, but Nakime calls all Corps members to the Infinity Castle before they can continue their assault.

The movie spotlights numerous thrilling fights, such as the collaboration between Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka against Akaza. Simultaneously, Shinobu confronts Doma, while Zenitsu battles an enigmatic adversary. This film not only delivers pulse-pounding action sequences but also showcases a variety of poignant moments that might leave spectators in tears. Interestingly, the voice actors from the series also express their deep emotions during a promotional event at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku, with Saori Hayami (Shinobu Kocho) and Ueda Reina (Kanao Tsuyuri) offering insights into the production process as well as their personal thoughts on the films.

The Voice Actors Share Their Most Memorable Moments in the film

Previously, Mantan Web published an interview featuring the voice actors, where they delved into the characters Shinobu and Kanao from the upcoming movie. In this chat, when prompted to share the most touching moment from the film, Hayami reminisced about Akaza’s tale; however, she chose not to disclose more specifics. It is worth noting that Akaza plays a significant role in the movie, and his narrative had the strongest impression on Hayami.

Alternatively, as Ueda expressed, “Upon seeing the end credits, I was moved to tears and could not see what lay ahead.

She explained, ‘I was crying because it seemed as though my heart was under immense pressure, knowing that Kanao was about to encounter demons and wasn’t sure what the right course of action would be.’

Ueda noted a feeling that the thoughts of not only Shinobu and Kanao, but also those who weren’t engaged in battle within the Infinity Castle, seemed intertwined. This observation was something that touched him.

Shinobu’s older sister, named Kanae, saved a girl named Kanao from slavery and adopted her into the Demon Slayer Corps as her sister. Later, after a sad event, Kanao came under Shinobu’s protection. Although they don’t have many scenes together in the series, there’s a strong connection between them, which was suggested during the Hashira Training Arc. Unfortunately, Kanao wasn’t featured in any trailers or promotional materials for Infinity Castle, but fans might get to see her in the second part of the film.

She’s among those enlisted in the Corps who found themselves within Infinity Castle, thus it’s implied that she will engage in battles against demons, much like her fellow Demon Slayers. Her full potential is yet to be seen, but her Flower Breathing Style – a skill she acquired from Kanae, the Flower Hashira – should not be underestimated.
