I wasn’t interested in Jake Paul’s 2025 boxing match, and his fight with Mike Tyson really bothered me – Tyson clearly wasn’t prepared. I’d grown tired of watching Paul fight older, less skilled opponents and had decided to stop watching altogether. But now, for the first time in a while, he’s facing a genuinely tough opponent, and I’m curious if others feel the same way I did before – maybe this fight will be different.
On December 19th, Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the professional boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua. I wasn’t initially planning to watch, but after checking the betting odds and learning more about Joshua, I’ve decided to make time for it.
Anthony Joshua Is An Overwhelming Favorite In His Fight With Jake Paul
While Jake Paul might be more widely known to the general public, Anthony Joshua is a highly respected boxer. With a record of 28 wins and 4 losses in 32 fights, he’s known for his power, having won 25 fights by knockout. Joshua also achieved Olympic gold in 2012 and has remained a top competitor, consistently fighting and winning championships over the past decade.
Simply put, he’s a real, professional boxer. Although Joshua is seven years older than Jake Paul, betting sites heavily favor him to win – with odds of -1500. These odds are so strong that most people aren’t betting on Joshua winning, but are instead choosing to bet on Paul as the underdog at +800. To give you some context, Paul was favored to beat Mike Tyson with odds of -225, and he largely controlled that fight.
Either We’ll See Jake Paul Humbled, Or He’ll Solidify Himself As A Legitimate Fighter
Earlier this year, Jake Paul sparked debate when he was included in professional boxing rankings. Opinions varied widely, with some arguing his contributions to the sport justified a title shot. However, most boxing fans didn’t believe his wins were significant enough to deserve that opportunity.

Jake Paul Was Asked About Joining Logan In WWE, And I’m Shocked By His Response
As a boxing fan, I think if Jake Paul could even compete with someone like Anthony Joshua, it would really start to silence the critics who don’t take him seriously. And honestly, if he somehow managed to win? That would put him in a position where he’d deserve a real shot at a title, in my opinion.
Many people are betting that Paul will finally lose and face a tough defeat in his upcoming fight. While he’s beaten several well-known MMA fighters, it would be good to see his fans acknowledge he still needs more experience before competing with a true boxing professional. His team deserves credit, though – they’re very good at building hype and attracting attention.
Don’t miss the Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul fight, streaming on Netflix Friday, December 19th! It promises to be a great match, win or lose, so make sure to save the date and prepare for an exciting night of boxing.
