Pearl Abyss has primarily showcased Kliff, a bearded character, in their marketing for Crimson Desert. But here’s a surprise: you can actually play as two other characters as well! And that’s not all – you’ll also be able to pilot a mech!
Today, the developers released the second in a series of detailed videos about the game Crimson Desert. This video focuses on how the combat works and how players will progress. The game’s box art also reveals that you’ll be able to play as characters other than Cliff, with two additional characters shown alongside him.
In the video, the woman is shown to be very nimble and capable of using magic from above. The man, on the other hand, fights with a large axe and also uses punches and kicks.
To get stronger, you’ll explore the world and find items that boost your health and stamina. These items also unlock new fighting moves and improve the ones you already know. You can even learn new skills just by watching how others use them in the game.
The video shows you where to find merchants who buy and sell weapons, blacksmiths to improve your gear, and locations for gathering upgrade materials.
We’ve actually had a chance to play Crimson Desert – we tested out its combat system at Gamescom several years ago. After a one-hour demo, we described the game as realistic, intricate, and promising.
