I’m Impressed By How Timothée Chalamet Prepared For Marty Supreme While Filming Dune 2, Wonka And More

I’m always a little amazed by what actors like Timothée Chalamet actually *do* to prepare for roles. It seems glamorous from the outside, but they put in so much work! It’s not just about things like getting in shape at the gym, though that’s often part of it. It’s about learning skills and really *becoming* the character. Honestly, hearing about everything Timothée did to get ready for *Marty Supreme* is seriously impressive – the dedication is incredible!

Timothée Chalamet received an Oscar nomination earlier this year for his role as Bob Dylan in the film *A Complete Unknown*. He spent years learning to play guitar in preparation for the part, and he’s now revealed another surprising skill he was developing at the same time. Chalamet told *The Hollywood Reporter* that he was also practicing table tennis for his upcoming A24 film, *Marty Supreme*. He goes on to say…

While filming each of my projects, I’ve always set up a temporary base. For Wonka, I rented a place in London. During the making of Dune 2, I had locations in Budapest, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi. I also had a table at the Cannes Film Festival while promoting The French Dispatch. Afterwards, I stayed in an Airbnb near Saint-Tropez, with a view of the water, and took classes there.

As a huge film fan, I’m really intrigued by this new sports drama! Timothée Chalamet is playing the lead – a guy determined to become a table tennis champion and really push the sport forward. The trailer for *Marty Supreme* shows him actually doing a lot of the table tennis himself, and it looks like the movie features these incredibly long, unbroken shots of matches. It seems like they really needed Chalamet to be able to *play* the game for those scenes to work, which is so cool!

More on Timothée Chalamet

Timothée Chalamet is likely to work again with director James Mangold (known for films like ‘Logan’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’) on a new project, and the story is said to be quite unusual.

Timothée Chalamet and director Josh Safdie first discussed this project years ago, and Chalamet was so dedicated he began taking table tennis lessons as far back as 2018. He even converted his home during the pandemic, replacing furniture with a table tennis table to continue practicing. I really admire his dedication to his work.

It’s rare to find an actor so committed. Considering Timothée Chalamet was juggling all of this with guitar practice and major films like *Wonka* and *Dune*, it’s truly impressive. He even claims there’s video evidence to prove it, and he plans to share it.

If anyone doubts this is true – thinks I’m exaggerating – all of this is backed up by documentation, which I’ll be releasing. I spent years developing these two projects, and I was working on them at the same time. This is what actually happened.

After winning the Screen Actors Guild Award for *A Complete Unknown*, Timothée Chalamet expressed a strong ambition to become a truly great actor, and he’s clearly dedicated to achieving that dream.

Don’t miss *Marty Supreme* when it hits theaters on December 25th, Christmas Day, as part of the 2025 movie lineup.
