Following the typical wave of show cancellations in May, many anticipated a quiet June without any surprising broadcast network announcements. However, these assumptions were soon proved incorrect. First, ABC decided to end “Doctor Odyssey,” and later, NBC made a decision regarding its suburban secrets dramedy “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” by cancelling it.

The news undeniably stirred a surge of sadness and mild irritation among its vocal, albeit small, audience. Following the announcement of its cancellation, many were consumed by disappointment over the unresolved cliffhanger. In response, several prominent actors from the show expressed their personal feelings on social media.

Having entered the fictional world of Grosse Pointe’s garden club as its newest member Birdie, Melissa Fumero won lots of fans over with her latest small-screen role, and she took to Instagram to mourn the loss of not just the show, but a character she clearly loved to play. It’s great to see Fumero’s former Brooklyn Nine-Nine colleagues expressing their thoughts too. Despite Stephanie Beatriz having Twisted Metal Season 2 in production and Terry Crews being occupied with America’s Got Talent and other projects, I still hold onto the hope that the wacky NYPD comedy might be revived sooner, rather than later.

AnnaSophia Robb’s Reaction To The Cancellation News

In the role of Alice in the Grosse Pointe Garden Society, AnnaSophia Robb portrayed a discontented teacher. From her two Instagram posts, it appears that the actress may feel just as strongly about leaving this series as her character Alice did about losing her pup. Her initial post read:

In my latest Instagram post, I proudly showcased a heartwarming video from behind the scenes of our production set, where dedicated crew members formed a welcoming human tunnel for our stars as they arrived at a filming location. In my second caption, I couldn’t help but express my appreciation and admiration for these hardworking individuals, acknowledging their efforts with a warm message.

It was a joy working alongside such an outstanding team, and I can’t help but feel grateful for the exceptional adventure we shared together.

After showcasing her acting talents prominently in the off-Broadway production “All-Nighter“, AnnaSophia Robb is optimistic about securing another television role in short order.

Ben Rappaport Shared His Thoughts About The Cancellation

As the core male member of the garden club, Ben Rappaport’s Brett served as the group’s manager, having already dashed his own professional dreams. The actor also took to Instagram to react to the cancellation, and he echoed his co-stars’ words by pointing out how much fun it was to work with everyone who was part of the show for its 13-episode run.
