Bob Odenkirk’s new action movie quickly became more popular than Alan Ritchson’s film on Netflix. Ritchson’s movie originally came out in theaters last year and is now available for streaming.
According to FlixPatrol, Nobody 2 has finished its run as the #1 movie overall, having held that spot since its release on March 6th. However, the film starring Bob Odenkirk remains incredibly popular, currently ranking as the most-watched movie in 76 countries. Nobody 2 is also performing well in Asia, where it’s available on HBO Max, consistently appearing in the top half of streaming charts.
Nobody 2 Dethrones War Machine With Ease on U.S. Netflix
Although War Machine quickly became a popular hit on Netflix after its release on March 6th, the arrival of Nobody 2 signals the end of its time at the top – and proves that Netflix is a great place to find exciting action thrillers.
Nobody 2 continues the story from the 2021 film Nobody, bringing back Bob Odenkirk alongside familiar faces like Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman), RZA, Colin Salmon, Gage Munroe, and Paisley Cadorath. The sequel also introduces new cast members including John Ortiz, Colin Hanks, and Sharon Stone.
The new movie begins right after the last one ended. Our hero decides to take his family on vacation to a quiet tourist town, but trouble quickly finds him. He’s soon being pursued by a dangerous crime boss, a crooked sheriff, and the owner of a local theme park.
Before it even arrived on Netflix, Nobody 2 was already popular with both viewers and critics, which probably explains why it quickly became a top film on the streaming service. It’s currently rated ‘Certified Fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics approving it 76% of the time, and audiences giving it an even better score of 88% based on over 1,000 reviews.
Critics say Bob Odenkirk put a lot of effort into making Nobody 2 a worthy sequel to the first film. Viewers also loved it, specifically calling out the creative and exciting action sequences and fight scenes.
Ritchson’s War Machine Film Quickly Became a Netflix Hit
Despite currently being the second most popular movie on U.S. Netflix, War Machine is proving to be a hit with viewers. The film features Alan Ritchson (known for Reacher) and tells the story of the grueling final phase of U.S. Army Ranger training, where an elite team’s exercises become a desperate fight for survival against an unknown enemy.
Rotten Tomatoes gives War Machine a 70% approval rating, and audiences agree with a score of 68% based on over 1,000 reviews. Critics especially liked Mike Ritchson’s performance, describing the film as a fun and exciting action movie. Now that both War Machine and Bob Odenkirk’s sequel are attracting viewers on Netflix, it’s unclear which one will become more popular in the days ahead.
Nobody 2 and War Machine are now streaming on Netflix.
