As a big fan, I have to say the latest season of Netflix’s One Piece really steps up the action. While the first season had some good fight scenes, this new season features an incredible 12-minute sequence that blows everything before it out of the water. Honestly, though, what really made the first season special wasn’t just the action – it was how well they captured the heart of the story and the amazing performances from the live-action cast. That’s what truly made it a success, and this season seems to be building on that foundation.

Although the action was consistently good, it was ultimately eclipsed by later events in One Piece season 2. While season 3 might continue this pattern, that’s still a ways off. Right now, a standout 12-minute fight scene from One Piece season 2, episode 3 deserves significant praise – it’s easily one of the best close-combat scenes available on streaming television.

Zoro Vs. The 100 Baroque Works Assassins Lived Up To The Hype

The exciting fight scene happens when the Straw Hat Pirates are unexpectedly attacked by secret agents from Baroque Works while visiting Whiskey Peak. Roronoa Zoro, who used to hunt pirates, becomes a prime target for the assassins. This is because Zoro previously killed Mr. 7 in season 1 of One Piece, and now 100 agents are out for revenge.

As a huge fan of One Piece, I genuinely think Zoro’s fight against the 100 Baroque Works agents is the most impressively choreographed hand-to-hand combat scene the series has ever given us, and it absolutely delivers on the excitement. It’s a moment that really stuck with me – and a lot of other fans, both from the manga and the anime – because Zoro’s skill and speed are just incredible as he takes on so many well-trained opponents.

Everyone wondered if Netflix’s live-action version of One Piece could capture the excitement of the fight scenes from the original anime and manga.

I was so relieved when the One Piece live-action finally delivered! It wasn’t just that Zoro actually managed to take down all 100 opponents – fans like me were keeping track, you know! – but how he did it was incredible. The fight scenes were beautifully choreographed and performed. Mackenyu is just perfect as Zoro; his movements are so fluid and powerful, you really believe he could become the world’s best swordsman someday. It was a truly amazing moment to watch.

The performers who played the Baroque Works agents were just as impressive. Fight scenes like this can often feel stiff and obviously staged, with performers clearly waiting for their cues. But that hardly happened here – the action felt remarkably fluid and natural.

The show’s success is largely due to its impressive choreography and the performers’ skills. The camera work is also excellent, flowing smoothly through the action with captivating, extended shots. The focus remains consistently on Zoro and his opponents, ensuring viewers never lose track of the fight.

The fight between Zoro and the 100 Beasts is easily the best action sequence in the entire series. While One Piece consistently delivers strong fight scenes, this one truly exceeded expectations. It surpasses even the memorable battles from the first season and shines within an already impressive second season, making it a standout moment.

Zoro’s Big Action Scene Made Up For A Less Impressive Final Fight

The fight between Luffy and King Wapol at the end of One Piece season 2 was enjoyable, but didn’t quite reach the heights of earlier battles, like the one at Arlong Park in season 1. While still a good and exciting fight, it wasn’t as impactful as some of Luffy’s previous showdowns.

Despite a somewhat underwhelming final battle, it’s hard to criticize the season as a whole, especially considering Zoro’s impressive fight against the 100 Baroque Works agents. The series had already demonstrated its ability to deliver exciting, realistic combat, and while the Luffy versus Wapol fight doesn’t quite reach those heights, it shows that the creators behind the Netflix adaptation know how to stage a good action sequence.

It’s unrealistic to expect every battle to be as epic as Zoro’s fight against 100 opponents, and it wouldn’t even make for good storytelling. Fights like Luffy versus Wapol still felt exciting, even if they weren’t quite as large in scale. However, because the incredibly ambitious Zoro fight did happen in One Piece, other battles don’t feel as underwhelming in comparison.
