A stunning new cosplay brings Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch to life, capturing the look of the powerful Marvel character. While Elizabeth Olsen is set to reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a few years, this incredible cosplay offers a glimpse of the hero-and former villain-in the real world. It’s a fantastic recreation of one of Marvel’s most formidable characters.

As a huge Marvel fan, I was really blown away by this new Scarlet Witch cosplay I saw on X! This artist, @sythewitch, absolutely nailed the look from *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness* – that dark, corrupted outfit is so powerful. It’s amazing to see her transform into Wanda, especially since she’s also portrayed other heroes like the Invisible Woman. What I love most is how this cosplay proves that anyone can embody these iconic characters, regardless of their race. It’s all about bringing the spirit of the hero to life, and she definitely does that!

Where is the Scarlet Witch in the MCU?

Elizabeth Olsen first played Wanda Maximoff in the 2015 film *Avengers: Age of Ultron*. She started as a relatively small villain, working with her brother Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) under the control of the AI Ultron (James Spader). However, she quickly switched sides and became an Avenger, fighting alongside Captain America in *Civil War* and battling Thanos in both *Infinity War* and *Endgame*. Throughout these films, she experienced significant personal losses, which led to the events of *WandaVision* and *Multiverse of Madness*, and ultimately her heartbreaking death.

Wanda Maximoff seemingly died when she destroyed the Darkhold Castle on Mount Wundagore, a fate reinforced by the events in the 2024 series *Agatha All Along*. Despite this, fans have been speculating about her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly because her comic book counterpart often returns after being presumed dead. In the comics, she recently reappeared with amnesia alongside Doctor Doom, leading to theories that the Scarlet Witch and Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Doctor Doom will team up in the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday* film. If this happens, it would mark her return to live-action after an initial appearance in animated form.

A new animated series called *Marvel Zombies* is coming from Marvel Studios, and it will feature the Scarlet Witch as a zombie leader in a different universe. The series starts on September 24, 2025, and brings back the zombie version of Scarlet Witch that first appeared in the *What If…?* season 1 in 2021. While she’s returning in animation, this version of the character hasn’t yet appeared in a live-action Marvel movie or show. Fans are hoping she might eventually show up in films like *Avengers: Doomsday* or *Avengers: Secret Wars*, potentially leading to a story where she overcomes her villainous role.
