The fusion of two beloved franchises – Indiana Jones and Encanto – in the Tropical Americas-themed land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a dream come true.
The Madrigal family and Indiana Jones are embarking on their next thrilling journeys, set in the upcoming Tropical Americas-themed area at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park – Pueblo Esperanza. This enchanting land will combine elements from Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones series and Disney Animation’s Encanto, offering visitors exciting new attractions.
At Disney World’s upcoming Indiana Jones ride, titled as yet, Bruce Vaughn, head of Imagineering, revealed a unique twist: it will tell an entirely new tale unrelated to any other Indiana Jones attraction globally. This will be the third Indiana Jones thrill ride at a Disney park, marking the first in Florida, where since 1989, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show has been a mainstay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
In our latest endeavor, a man wearing a hat has unearthed an immaculately preserved Mayan temple, signaling an opportunity for investigation. Legends speak of a legendary creature residing within its depths, and he’s eager to verify the tales firsthand. Therefore, he invites us on this journey… but beware, there may be serpents in store, only time will tell.
As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the Animal Kingdom, encompassing Africa, Asia, and Pandora – The World of Avatar, is set to grow even more magical! This expansion will include the first-ever ride-through attraction inspired by Encanto, nestled within the Casita – the enchanted home of Maribel, Bruno, Luisa, Isabela, and the rest of the Madrigal family.
I’m thrilled to share that the magical world of Encanto is coming to Florida next summer! After the limited-time Celebración Encanto sing-along show at EPCOT’s CommuniCore Plaza Stage and the brand-new Disney Starlight parade at the Magic Kingdom, we have another spectacular nighttime event in store. This new spectacle will be filled with characters and parade floats inspired by beloved stories like Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Frozen, Encanto, and many more from Walt Disney Animation Studios! Can’t wait to immerse myself in this magical experience!
Furthermore, Discovery Park’s emblem, the Tree of Life, will host a fresh show inspired by “Zootopia” and its sequel, titled “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”. This 3D spectacle is set to replace the existing “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” and will transport visitors on an adventure with characters like Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and their anthropomorphic animal companions as they explore various biomes depicted in the movie. The show is scheduled to debut next winter.
Disney World’s just opened Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the newly-reimagined Country Bears Jamboree are the latest attractions to open at the Magic Kingdom, which just announced the new Disney Villains-themed land and two new rides based on Pixar’s Cars. A reimagined Test Track is scheduled to open in 2025 at EPCOT, with Disney’s Hollywood Studios set to begin construction next year on a Monsters, Inc. Land to join the park’s fan-favorite Toy Story Land.
At Disney Experiences, Imagineers are the ones who conceive, develop, design, and construct stories into tangible locations, as explained by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. He also mentioned that there are Imagineers currently working on projects all around the world because everything they will reveal is under active development. Plans have been drafted and construction has begun. Furthermore, D’Amaro stated that Disney Parks is implementing everything that was announced at D23, including an expansion of the Avengers Campus at California’s Disneyland Resort, as well as two new Spider-Man attractions at Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland.
