I’ve been hooked on Poppy Playtime ever since the first game came out in 2021 – it’s quickly become a favorite in the horror community! The developers, Mob Entertainment, have been adding to the story with new chapters, and last year they teased a 5th installment with a really creepy trailer. We’ve all been eagerly waiting for a release date, and finally, on January 10th, Mob Entertainment announced when we can head back to Playtime Co. with Poppy Playtime – Chapter 5!
The next chapter of Poppy Playtime will be available on PC on February 18th, with console versions coming later. That means fans only have a little over a month to wait to continue the puzzle adventure! Mob Entertainment also released a new, scary trailer introducing a frightening new character called The Prototype.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 “Broken Things” Release Date Revealed with New Trailer

The next chapter of Poppy Playtime, titled “Broken Things,” is coming to PC on February 18th, with versions for consoles to follow. This new installment takes players deeper into the Playtime Co. factory, where they’ll meet someone who could be a helpful ally or a dangerous enemy. Expect new puzzles and challenges as you uncover more of the factory’s hidden and disturbing secrets. This time, you might even confront The Prototype, potentially the biggest threat of all.
The newest chapter promises to reveal more secrets about Playtime Co… if players are brave enough to investigate. This time, we might finally meet The Prototype. You can watch the new release date trailer below for a sneak peek at the next installment of Poppy Playtime.
The new trailer for Poppy Playtime is unsettlingly quiet, showing The Prototype working on a strange experiment while hidden in the dark. The trailer ends with a creepy invitation to “come home,” delivered in a voice that’s likely to haunt viewers. We get a brief look at The Prototype, but its full appearance remains a mystery. It’s clear that things aren’t getting any easier in the next chapter of the game, and Experiment 1006 is becoming increasingly dangerous.
You can currently play Poppy Playtime Chapters 1-4 on PC (through Steam and Epic Games), PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It’s also available on mobile. The next installment, Chapter 5, will launch first on PC, with plans to release it on consoles in the following months. The price for Chapter 5 hasn’t been announced yet, but you can add it to your wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store before its February 18th release.
